First thoughts and early review:
Well, first impressions are important to me in games, because as someone who has played a lot of games I can somewhat gauge what a game is all about and whether it's good from how it feels.
That said, Cookie run: Tower adventures is an excellent game as you'll see from the images provided. Be it aurally, visually, narratively, or gameplay, every aspect of the game this far feels well polished and crafted with love.
You can easily see the amount of work and effort that went into the development of the game, its quality surprised me and was something i was frankly not expecting. It's a fun game to say the least, however there are certain aspects outside of it's solid gameplay that leaves me irked.
For instance, the presence of the dreaded energy system in the form of jelly hearts, the gacha system and material requirements for leveling and enhancing characters and equipment notwithstanding. All this along with what seems like the eventual coming of multiplayer means that the game could tread the path of every other game with gachas and similar mechanics: whales.
Just that alone has left a sour taste in my mouth, as although the game has plenty of good qualities, it may not be fully accessible if the game releases with a lot of microtransactions. Another point to consider is that the gameplay loop and art style may not be to everyone's taste, it isn't exactly mine either but I don't mind it too much.
That's all from me for now!
I agree about the dreaded gacha system, feels like its everywhere these days.
