Day 22: Boori's Spooky Tales (Idle RPG)
Platform: Android
I had been looking forward to this for a little while now, even though it's not a genre I typically prefer to play (Idle) but thought I'd give it a go anyway. I found it to be your typical idle RPG, set it and forget it for a bit while you advance a few stages and get currency to upgrade your stats, then rinse and repeat once you find yourself getting killed too easily. Every death sets you back a couple of stages. There are quests to do, but once you get to the 10th one, (they go fast til then) they force you to use premium currently to advance. They've given you some, but I don't like the idea of being forced to use it to advance. There is an option to watch a video to do the task needed, but they won't let you until after you spend the currency. I couldn't back out of that screen and force closed the game, but when I went back, it made everything else inaccessible, and that's where I stopped playing.  I'd like to have played more, but it just rubs me the wrong way when games force me to spend premium currency, especially when it's not even necessary.
I also found it odd that there's a chat box at the bottom of the screen, I'm assuming that will come in to play a little later, since there may be guilds or something, but I didn't get that far. That said, the game requires a persistent internet connection, and you do accumulate non-premium currency and experience while offline.
I do like how the game looks tho, it's cute, and I'm interested in the story even though the intro was pretty vague in regards to it. Maybe I'll give it another try in the future.

The idle that I completely forgot.
This is an idle game that I played today and I simply forgot that I am playing it on my phone. The game has all of the basic elements of an AFK game. Everything is automatic, from levelling up skills, and items, to upgrades of relics, and even stats. The game’s visuals are kind of bland and I did not expect it to be this bland. Even the music/sound from every level is just similar or just an octave higher or lower.

Day 17: Stone Story Platform: Android Stone Story is a unique white-on-black ASCII auto side-scrolling RPG that has no ads (?), and the only in-app purchase is a one-time buy for premium content and to support the developers. It also says the purchase gets rid of ads, but I didn't see a single one the whole time I played anyway. Progression through areas is done for you, but you can pause to change out your gear at any time. You start out by gathering materials to craft a few things, and a workbench which allows you to upgrade your gear. You can even "upgrade" the areas to get them to drop better loot (but the enemies get harder) by redoing them. Being defeated by enemies doesn't seem to do anything but take you out of the level, and you don't lose anything or become penalized in anyway.

Day 16: Rogue Adventure: Roguelike RPG Platform: Android Roguelike card-based games are all the rage these days, so here's another one for you. I only cleared the first area, and quite easily, but the combat is straightforward and easy to understand. You choose paths to go down, and there are merchants along the way you can use your coins on to buy new cards. Unfortunately there aren't any tooltips on the cards that I've been able to find, so if you're introduced to a status or ability that you're unfamiliar with, you won't be able to find out what it does. You get 4 cards to start, and can only play 3 per turn unless you have cards that buff your mana count (which is what you use to use cards) and whenever you play one, another pops up in its place. There are several classes to choose from, and I started off as a Necromancer. With that came cards with the ability to resummon cards from the discard pile and use them again. Once your turn is over, any cards currently in your hand would be shuffled back in and you'd start the next round with four fresh ones. HP doesn't regen between places along the path, so you'll have to work some healing cards in as well. Overall I enjoyed the short time I was able to play, and would like to pick up where I left off when I can. I didn't die, so I can't say what happens upon death, so I have nothing to report on that, unfortunately. I recommend Rogue Adventure to those who like pixel graphics and card-based RPGs.
