Fntastic has finally spoke up about why the day before failed and this is probably the most absurd take I've read all day. The two brothers over at fntastic can not keep accountability for there own actions.

The developer of The Day Before, Steam's most hated game, is shutting down just days after launch
It's been a long time since we've seen a fall from grace quite so spectacular as The Day Before. The latest twist in that saga comes with today's news that developer Fntastic is shutting down just days after the game finally launched in early access.
This survival zombie shooter first came on gamers' radars a couple years ago with an impressive first trailer. Despite few people having heard of Russian developer Fntastic, the trailer built a huge amount of buzz, and The Day Before quickly became one of the most wishlisted games on Steam of all time. Equally quickly, however, more discerning gamers started questioning whether the trailer was showing actual gameplay or if it was all nonsense.

if you truly think it's the players or "content creators" fault for things this game you probably shouldn't play video games. content creators simply saved a ton of people from wasting their money on a falsely advertised product that absolutely didn't even come close to living up to the expectations that they set for their fan base. The game was not even remotely close to how it was advertised. They scammed thousands of people out of their presumably hard earned money with a trash product that nobody wanted. Nobody wanted another watered down recycled looter shooter extraction game with copious amounts of recycled assets. No part of this game had any sort of originality. It literally felt like a Frankenstein game pieced together with a bunch of the same shit we have already seen time and time again. (TLDR) The game was trash because the devs were degenerate con artists, NOT because content creators ruined the games reputation.
