Footage from a scrapped Call of Duty game has surfaced online, revealing in development gameplay of its single player and multiplayer offering. The project was reportedly meant to take the Call of Duty: Ghosts slot in 2013 and would have been the franchise's first entry set in the future before it was cancelled. The Tony Hawk's Pro Skater studio Neversoft was producing the game.
In the two videos published on the internet, a series of single player missions can be seen and then two minutes of video showcases a level on the moon.
Despite the cancellation, the Call of Duty series would eventually take a step into the future and space with PS4 game Infinite Warfare. A list of maps that was planned for "Future Warfare" has also leaked, which reveals old Modern Warfare 2 maps were meant to come back much, much earlier than last year's instalment. The list included Afghan, Terminal, and Overgrown.
