New MMORPG That FAILS in Almost EVERYTHING... | Sword of Mystic Shu Beta Review
919 View2024-02-04Sword of Mystic Shu is a mess of an ARPG with poor writing, even poorer pacing and progression, wrapped up with tedious and mindless gameplay that nearly put me to sleep.
Sword of Mystic Shu gameplay structure is very poorly integrated into its RPG foundation. Battles are not natural as quests must be accessed by taking a portal to an identical location of the area you’re in, this time devoid of everything else except the enemies you need to kill. All of this is also laced together with incessant loading screens between the areas, further wasting my time.
Quests are tied to progression, but Mystic Shu decides to throw EVERYTHING at you, even for abilities you haven’t found or unlocked yet, cluttering all the menus and UI with useless information that serves no purpose.
Perhaps the game currently being in its Beta might have something to do with all these problems, but my first foray into Sword of Mystic Shu did NOT want me to come back in the future.
