The game is easily up there with something like Plague Tale.
It's a good game, has a good story, and the action is pretty good too. But don't come into this expecting something like GoW.
Where this game absolutely shines is the characters and character depth. Even the side missions have very well planned and designed characters.
The investigations are pretty cool and offer a real break from the gameplay as you uncover secrets and mysteries and learn about more hauntings. Even doing something like reading a book or a note can offer some real depth to a character.
It's total sleeper and if you're into some AAA games like Plague Tale or Hellblade, this will not let you down.
📖 Storyline: you play mostly as Red and you're trying to uncover the mystery behind a nasty ghost/nightmare that's plaguing New Eden in early America.
🎮 Gameplay: it's a very story and narratively driven game. You'll miss a good bit of details if you don't pay attention to the characters and the many details that they can offer.
👍 Pros: if you liked the GoW gameplay and camera, this will appeal to you a bit. But don't expect such heavy action. But the traversing will definitely feel similar. However it's a very lush world and once you bet into, the map opens up nicely and there's plenty to do
👎 Cons: there's a lot of crawling and squeezing up, around, and beneath the terrain as you travel around. But on the plus sides you're rewarded for your efforts with small upgrades that add up nicely
Overall, it's a fantastic game. And I don't think you'd be disappointed if you like a game with heavy story elements

This is a pretty fun game reminiscent of Baldur's Gate and Diablo II. it has a classic element to it and it was only made by just one guy which is pretty cool! the ads are very few and reasonable, and you can but he game to remove it and get some premium things in the game like unlocking some premium chests you may find and gambling and some other things. at first I found navigation of pretty much everything pretty confusing and the UI super cluttered, but I got used to it and it's okay. Most of this game you'll spend in dungeon crawler kind of situations. Even at maximum level plenty of creatures towards the end can still easily kill you if you're not careful so the game is challenging allt he way through. the environments are detailed in unexpected ways, like foliage moving and skulls under your feet rolling out of the way. i wasn't expecting that out of a lower resolution graphics game! I would have appreciated being able to turn on and off the music, as one of the dungeon/cave tracks that plays in many of the maps is super repetitive. Another drawback is the story. It is extremely boring. not because the idea is stale but there is very little development or meaningful engagement with the story and the ending is abrupt and very anticlimactic. I was disappointed with that but the game overall is still lots of fun and totally worth it to play as a vintage feeling top down fantasy hack and slash!

📖 Storyline: Not much of a story game so if you're in for that.. don't bother. 🎮 Gameplay: Amazing! Trying to combine many different aspects and it actually works! You have Gathering, Crafting, Sneaking, Hunting and Survival (Hunger) all while exploring the world and trying to find the secret green skulls. You can take your time in each level as there is no time limit and there is no death penalty with checkpoints for respawning

The game play is amazing, it's a challenging survival game that has endless possibilities and could actually go on forever if you can. The art looks like a grim yet cheerful book and the bosses, secrets, and interactions add to the amazing game it is.
