Got a question about how to deal with Kazama and didn’t have enough space to fit the answer into a comment, so instead I’m writing this post😅
Kazama is a fantastic hero, and truly one of the the most fun hero’s in the game (imo). He is classified as a flank hero. Here are his stats.
Max Health - 5600hp (1400hp of that is over-shield)
Vertical Flight Performing Ability (PA) - 4sec
Vertical Flight Cool Down (CD) - 5 Sec
Horizontal Flight Performing Ability (PA) - 3sec
Horizontal Flight Cool Down (CD) - 7 Sec
HOW TO DEAL WITH HIM:
Hitscan - Hitscan is a poor/decent Kazamas players Kyptonite. Judex, Hunter, Mark, Skadi (Skadi for more than one reason I’ll cover later) and a few others are fantastic picks to bring him down. With good cross hair placement, right hand peaking, and just positioning you can beat him. (I’m making the assumption you’re not a sniper main because obviously a well placed headshot is sending any flanking hero back to spawn)
Map awareness - Kazama in reality works ALOT like wrecking ball in OW. What I mean by that is, he is really reliant on the health packs placed through out a map because most healers can’t keep up with him or don’t notice him flying above and around them. Placing yourself near a health pack on his recovery path can line you up for alot of easy kills on him.
It’s better for you to find him - because of kazamas damage potential, it’s better for you to get the jump on him than him getting the jump on you. Kazama doesn’t have to be super accurate because of AOE damage which can make for some wild movement plays by the hero. Getting the jump on him in this manner is by hitting shots on him to make him repeatedly reset if you can’t secure the kill (he is only 5600hp, you got that).
He Can’t Right Hand Peak - One awesome mechanic of T3 Arena that projectile hero’s can’t utilize is the “right hand peak”. Kazama has to be exposed to participate in any engagement. Let him make the mistake of walking too far into the open and hit those free and open shots on him behind cover.
Simply Skadi - Skadi has her most iconic active ability, Dub-STOP, that can bring Kazama down. The way to think of this ability in Kazamas case is this, if you web him while he was flying vertically he can still fly away horizontally. If you web him while he is flying horizontally he is a sitting duck. Keep distance and try to hit those head shots and try to create a right hand peak advantage for yourself.
THINGS TO BE MINDFUL OF:
His default Ultimate gives him 70% over shield - You may think he is low hp, but be mindful of ult usage. He gains 70% over shield performing his default ult, which can be the difference he needs to secure the kill. FYI you can Dub STOP this ult with Skadi.
Manual fire is needed but most players still us auto fire - just to make sure you know, ALL PROJECTILE HEROS SHOULD BE MANUAL FIRE. But most of the player base relays so heavy on Auto Fire that with decent movement you can and nicely placed shots you can get the best of him (I recommend Judex for this type of approach).
Most players will rely on AOE not direct fire - AOE damage is a Kazama players usual play style. It won’t do as much damage as a direct hit, but you should try to avoid. A great rule of thumb, if Kazama can see you, AOE damage can see you too. Holding direct right hand peaks are kinda iffy so sometimes it’s better to hold deep right hand peaks on him.
Hope this helps,
