Dragon's Dogma 2 is an excellent sequel that builds upon the first game's core concepts to create a thrilling open-world adventure.
More of a redo than a sequel, Dragon's Dogma 2 is a strange and wonderful action-RPG that bolsters the original’s strengths without addressing its weaknesses.
I do think a lot of what Dragon's Dogma 2 does scratches an itch for me, and that some of the things I love about it are specific to me. But the longer I've played it the less I've worried about my own bias towards it. Even if I hadn't have played the first Dragon's Dogma, I can tell you with complete certainty that I'd have come to same conclusion I have now, and I'd have given Dragon's Dogma 2 the same score I have now, simply because no other game in recent memory has inspired the same feeling of captivation and wonder in me. The joy of discovery lies within all of us, and Dragon's Dogma 2 succeeds in evoking that magical feeling in a way no other game has before it.

The sequel delivers an incredible, continent-spanning odyssey filled with monsters to battle and mysteries to explore - rewarding player discovery and backing up its captivating sense of adventure with refined, enjoyable combat. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is one of the best fantasy RPGs of the modern age and will no doubt prove a strong contender for game of the year.
If this review feels chaotic, then that's a fair reflection of the game. It is mad, fun, fantastical chaos and I honestly love it. Before I started writing this, I had left my Arisen and her endearingly incompetent pawn in an ancient battleground patrolled by a dragon. We blasted it with a couple of ballista bolts, and then it flew over and crushed the ballista with a claw, at which point I realised we were somewhat outgunned here and ran for some castle ruins to hide from the creature. This seemed like a good idea until skeletal warriors rose from the ground, and I realised the castle is extremely haunted. I don't know how we'll get out of this situation. But I do know it will be an adventure.
In 2022, I wrote "Please don't change anything for Dragon's Dogma 2". Obviously Capcom hasn't just made the same game again—the quests are more impactful (if wonky), the world is bigger, the combat is more elaborate, and there are some welcome quality of life features. But really this is just more Dragon's Dogma. More huge monsters to fight, more adventures with a wonderful cast of pawns, more creatures to pick up and throw at their pals. It is very good and I am very, very tired.

Capcom was riding off a mad high in 2011 after dropping Dead Rising 2 Off the record the expansion to Dead Rising 2 and I spent hours upon hours mowing through zombies or the constant online matches in Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3. But in 2012, a new Action RPG open world took me by storm and what i wanted to spend the next 20+ hours grinding through Dragon's Dogma Dark arisen and this time around almost 12 years later we finally receive the sequel and in this episode i want to go over the recent showcase that dropped today as of this recording. We're going to go over the gameplay overview and what to expect from Dragon's Dogma 2.

DRAGON'S DOGMA 2 - THERE IS A REASON IT'S MOSTLY NEGATIVE *SPOILERS*
It's a regular trend, not for every game or developer, but it is quite prevalent to see an IP released or, in some cases, revived after many years of silence when everything being shown should have been properly planned before its release. Dragons Dogma 2 feels rushed, or, for lack of a better term, Early Access.
There are numerous game-breaking elements that you may encounter, such as being banned for erasing your save file to start over (which is uncommon but can happen), as well as a large number of bugs and frustrating features that will likely get under your skin if you're not familiar with the original game and all it's "Unique" aspects.
