Project racer has always been fascinating to me. However since we know GRID Autosport has been ported to mobile since a while ago, I might want to share some stuff that I'd like to see in final release.
First an foremost. I think I'd like to have the far type of chase camera. Because sometimes we need to see surroundings when having a race with opponents.
Secondly. I noticed that the racing line/guide in here isn't implemented the way that most people will enjoy. Simply because those diamond placements are not consistent. Making us unable to brake efficiently in first try by using the diamond. Then we can't even brake on time on the second try because there is no sign on how close the corner is to my current position (that's why we need those 300, 200, 100 signs) before sharp corners. While the diamonds might not be the best option, my suggestion is going for more traditional triangles, or make the diamond denser and react to car's speed. It's more intuitive that way.
Third. More cars. Doesn't have to be licensed. Actually screw it we know what the suggested car will be when we see it. But the cars should be vary in performance. Currently there is 2 in alpha that both has similar performance and handling. Soo...
Fourth, options to just disable assist. Assist is important to handle the car better. But usually some like traction control that's too aggressive like currently implemented causing optimal exit strategy to be impossible. Usually I just disable them and adjust my throttle according to car's capabilities when exiting corners, so I can always accelerate earlier and therefore has more optimal time.
Fifth, in starting to lose track but I'd like to have a brake button on my left thumb and throttle on the right side. Why? It's definitely give me more reaction time and it's been a norm for any racing game I've known. Making 1 thumb for both is ... Kinda forgetting I have left thumb. But this game still deserve a thumbs up 👍🏻.
Sixth, add checkpoints in tracks. So, at least we know if any corners or segment we did good or worse than before. Only lap split isn't enough to tell how our strategy doing on some corners. So direct feedback is gone.
Seventh, walls absorb energy therefore slowing the car down. It's still bouncing and some corners are literally faster to bounce wall than braking.
Eighth, while I do enjoy the graphics. I wish it was a bit brighter on the shadows area. I know high contrast give feels of "quality graphics" but this is a bit too much.
Ninths, paid game. Stop f2p nonsense that really destroy experience and kinda narrowing people scope for mobile gaming. I would like to purchase this as much as I purchased GRID and Wreckfest. Please 🙏🏻.
Lastly, Please make a good swipe-steering control. Buttons are terrible for touch control and steering wheels-like control is also not intuitive enough when your thumb might cover the entire thing. Some people, like me, really love swipe control like the one implemented on Wreckfest. It's accurate, less prone to missed-input, and the slider-like is so intuitive for touch screens.
I guess that's it for now. It's suggestions that kinda in core gameplay that I haven't seen implemented in alpha. Maybe the dev already working on them but yet to apply them. Either way. It's a very high potential game. And kinda relive my moment with GRID.
