I really love bridge making games. I thought Poly Bridge 1-3 was the ultimate way to teach me how to think like an engineer and therefore how to make the borderline working bridge to save as much money as possible. Well, apparently bridge-making games don't have to be like that! Bridge Constructor: PORTAL is amazing!
Being a physics based game, they picked a good simple visual to make the game accessible. I find no issue with phone heating or stuttering anytime I play. Simple 3D graphics like the PORTAL franchise are distinct and have always been a favorite for me.
Yes, this is what differentiates the game with something like Poly Bridge. While Poly Bridge gives you probable actual realistic scenarios of bridges, Bridge Constructor instead gives way to make the most experimental bridge ever. Instead of constricting you with a set amount of budget goals, the game limits the anchor point for you, while you have to make bridges that withstand high speed cars, or cushion the car's fall, or even reflect some projectiles so it reaches its goal.
At the very beginning I thought I'm going to hate this game tho, this is because they tell too much on how to make good bridges. I was like "Bro, let US find out ourselves, don't give us a tutorial like a guide book". Surprisingly they then gave us the "Best Practices" guide book, wow. But boy am I so wrong. Even with that best practices guide, you still find that in levels apparently it's not as easy as you think at all. Reaching level 30-ish all that best practices you have tried previously now became kinda obselete and you have to find your own engineering way of thinking. Good luck getting a bridge work first try!
Or forget the first try, If you like challenges try Convoy mode on each level. You'll realize how much actually changed the moment your bridges or ramps or catchers got bombarded by multiple cars at a time. Sometimes the cars split onto 2 paths and they collide with each other if you don't make a way to avoid that.
Other than plenty of bridges that may take 14H of gameplay to finish, there is also DLC that uses a new portal mechanic to get you another 14H gameplay. I used a play pass so it's all already unlocked for me. I really recommend this way of playing premium games.
Conclusion:
Already played Poly Bridge? Don't avoid this game, this brings your tinkering hands (or finger) onto the next levels with a fun way to see cars flying out.
