Clash Royale starts off with fair matchmaking but then progressively gets more challenging. As a f2p player, I think the progression system is pretty balanced and it's mostly long term. At first, you get matched with bots / people that have around the same level cards as you, but once you get around the higher trophy range, you face less bots and go against people with higher levels and can sometimes be impossible to win. The game can be quite stressful at times but can also be very rewarding. Although I still play and enjoy clash royale, I've hated the past few updates as they make the game more p2w and unfair for people who don't spend money. Right now might be one of the worst times to play as a newcomer but it I would definitely recommend it.

Clash royale is a very popular pvp strategy game, that i have been playing for many years. In a normal Clash royale battle you will face a random opponent that has around the same amount of trophies as you. When you win a battle you will gain about 30 trophies, and the higher trophies you have the harder the opponents you face. That is where the upgrading system comes in, winning a battle gives you a chest that you can open for gold and cards. once you get enough cards you can upgrade your troop to the next level for some gold.

This is the graphically most impressive "clash royale", and i immediately fell in love with its atmosphere. Additionaly, the gameplay offers more depth than other alternatives, with hero skills, race bonuses, and equipment, which leaves and amazing first impression, and i spent a lot of time in Empires, and bought two subscriptions, as well as a 30$ mythic chest. As in most other f2p games, your progress will hit a wall, though, after you reach a rank, where you are placed against opponents with stronger and rarer cards.
