Games worth discovering
Before you pull on the upcoming weapon banner, I'd like to remind everyone of a few things.
107 View2024-06-25Looking at Sigewinne's signature weapon with the Sigewinne/Furina banners less than a day away, I can't help but be reminded of a similar situation that happened in Furina's last rerun, and a common issue I see get posted in here multiple times. I fully expect it to happen this time as well, so here are a few reminders:
- The rates of the weapon banner aren't 50%/50%, they are 37,5%/37,5%/25%. This means that there is only a 37,5% chance of getting a specific weapon that you want out of the weapon banner every time you hit soft pity, unless the last weapon you obtained was something from standard
- 37,5% chance is much smaller than it sounds. For something that usually costs about 64 pulls and provides as little as Furina's signature, it's not good odds at all
- Guaranteeing a weapon can cost 240 wishes at most. If we account for soft pity, this means that it usually takes about 189 wishes instead. For reference, guaranteeing limited characters cost usually 148 if we account for soft pity.
- Going into the weapon banner with ANYTHING below this amount puts you at risk of losing everything and giving you nothing in return. No fate points, no good weapons to bring back home, nothing. Going in with this amount can still mean the possibility of losing everything, but you are guaranteed to get what you wanted.
- Splendor of Tranquil Waters is just... not that good in the first place. If Furina is at C0, she's gonna be gaining more from her C1, her C2 AND her C3 than she will gain by that weapon. Although the sword can also be used as a stat stick for other characters, there really isn't anyone who wants to use that thing more than any other free or easily obtained option
- To add to the point above, Furina in particular has a very good selection of free or easy to get weapons. Fleuve Cendre Ferryman is actually pretty spectacular on her, and good old Favonius is always helpful, specially in someone as ER% hungry as Furina. If you're an old player, Festering Desire is so goddamn good on her that it's her second best weapon.
- Furina is already an amazing character at C0 and without her signature, and she can very well lead her team to a 36* abyss victory with good old Fleuve. If you feel like you struggle in the Abyss even with a C2 furina, that is most definitely a problem with her build or her team and not something that can be easily solved by getting her weapon
- Fishing for Fleuve Cendre takes a few days. Getting 189 wishes can take a few MONTHS.
- Splendor of Tranquil Waters has one fatal flaw. It does not provide Furina with the ER% she desperately needs in any team she plays in. Getting the weapon does not mean you can be lazy with artifacts because her ER% needs are gonna increase significantly, even more so if she's the solo hydro on the team.
- Furina flat out can not be used in the upcoming Imaginarium Theater. Getting her weapon in order to make it as strong as possible is gonna be pointless for the next 3 weeks.
- "nah i'd win" Statistically speaking, you will not more often than you would.

The only exclusive signature I've made my mind to get, since I have gotten Misplitter Reforged is Staff of Homa, hadn't it been my incredible fortune that day; perhaps I wouldn't have gotten Misplitter, being an Ayaka main and free to play, Misplitter was too good skip for although the thought of losing the chance to win twice didn't left my mind yet I pursued and thankfully won early.
