Predatory gacha monetization.
Avoid this game if you want a chill relax game. It's only good for the first 40 hours, and then going down hill.
You need at least 7 dupes for each heroes to do anything in this game, and heavily punish players if they're not spending. It is mainly focusing on pvp competitive gamemodes, everything has leaderboard and ranking rewards. Pop up bundles aren't even fair amough whales due to random values.
Even though this is an afk idle game, you still have to manually focus on this game multiple times per day due to all the contents and time gated events. The manual playtime could go over 1or 2 hour per days.
Unlike Hoyoverse's games with fair gacha model, Lilith's AFK Journey is forcing players to heavily invest their time and money with unfair model and competitive, from events, to gacha mechanic. Don't expect to online only 10 minutes per day, or skip a day in this game.
They have no chill in forcing players to invest as much time and money as possible. If you missed a day, you will lose a lot of progress and make you play slower, unless you spend money. If you don spend money to progress faster, you will get slower.
If you can't reach top 200 in rankings, don't hope for a good unit within 6 months of playtime. Yeah you can ignore it for a while, but the more you play, you will notice how slow of the progression you're making, and even falling behind other players. Even spenders aren't immune to this, if they stop spending, they will fall behind. There is no end or limit.
Lilith could've make a fair gacha game, but they decided not to. It is an unfortunate fate for this game with such a good art style. They still stuck to the past with their unfair gacha model.

Well, that's basically most of games developed in china in a nutshell, so it's nothing new at this point. Best option is to uninstall and move on. My recommendation is you try Inariel Legends and Immortal Adventure Wukong instead. Getting the best units & their dupes as F2P is easy in those games and you get plethora of free stuffs. Modern mobile game market is like a big landmine field where you have to tread carefully and stick with the "a select few" games where devs genuinely care about their user base ~
