⋆🄷🄴🅈(*´∇`)ノ guys! So, as you've seen from plenty of my posts, I'm a older gamer from the Game Boy™ to the GameCube® and beyond.
There’s something magical about booting up an older game, the familiar chime of a retro console, or the pixelated graphics that evoke memories of simpler times. As the screen flickers to life, we’re transported back to a different era where the gameplay was straightforward yet captivating, and every challenge felt like a grand adventure. These games were more than just a pastime; they were a gateway to countless hours of joy, frustration, and triumph. The sensation of holding an old controller, with its distinctive feel and worn buttons, brings a wave of nostalgia, reminding us of late-night gaming sessions and the thrill of finally beating that impossible level.
I know there are lots of people that like older platforms and games as much as they like newer and upcoming games, so with that being known, I'm going to start up an entire week dedicated to gaming of the past!
Old school games had a unique charm that modern titles sometimes lack. They relied on creativity, storytelling, and innovative mechanics to engage players. Whether it was the immersive worlds of RPGs, the fast-paced action of platformers, or the strategic depth of puzzle games, each genre had its own allure that captivated a generation of gamers. These experiences are etched in our minds, forming a cherished part of our gaming history. They remind us of a time when gaming was about exploration, discovery, and the simple joy of overcoming obstacles.
There were about 11 mainstream genres from the past:
First Person Shooters (FPS Games)
Role Playing Games (RPG Games)
Adventure
Simulation
Strategy
Sports & Fitness
Fighting
Platformers
Survival & Horror
Stealth
Interactive Movie
Puzzlers & Party Games
Social Deduction
Educational
And I'd honestly like your help with this! Help me pick 1 genre on the list for each day of the week, starting from Sunday. Once this upcoming Sunday pops up, the genres with the most votes gets thrown on the list!
Comment the ones you want to see on the list! Deadline: Saturday June 27ᵗʰ at 10:00EST.
