It's not a bad Souls-lite at all. It sets up a good looking world and you get a small number of pretty sights to take in. Where as it's you against the world, there's plenty of people to talk to and do side quests to learn about the world in small ways.
📖 Storyline: You play as Nor Vanek in a world with flintlock style weapons. Think muskets. She's a battle hardened girl who doesn't take crap from anyone who's spent her life growing up on various battlefields and under the care of Baz, her adoptive father and mercenary. The premise is simple enough; humanity is on the ropes in a war against the gods. But not like God of War. Think more like pagan gods. But still powerful.
🎮 Gameplay: The combat isn't bad at all. It starts out slow, but as you unlock new abilities, you slowly become a powerhouse that's more than capable of dealing with the best and worst the game has to offer. It's about 15-20 hours of solid story gameplay and maybe 25-30 hours if you're trying to platinum the game.
👎 Cons: Sadly there's Zero relay value because you can honestly platinum the game in a single playthrough before you even get to the last boss. If there's any future updates, maybe they'll add some post game content or even a NG+. But as it stands now, one playthrough is all there is unless you start a totally new game.
👍 Pros: The ending leaves on a hopeful tone for the future of the story. So I'm definitely interested in seeing where it goes. The combat is fun and with the armor set bonuses, it allows you to mix and match for your playstyle. But even this is limites
