Probably not
We all have different preferences for video games and what they provide to us as players. When I hear the name "FatShark" I immediately start to see red flags, because this is developer who is not afraid to break and make false promises forever.
The real question here is why they opted to backtrack on Warhammer: Vermintide 2. It's not exactly thriving with an active player-base, compared to WarHammer 40,000 Darktide, with just 2000 players daily, where Darktide is a constant 5000.

It leaves you wondering what their objective is here. Revive a dead game that most haven't played in 9 years? If they wanted to go back to gameplay like this, wouldn't it be much more effective to simply return to
Left 4 Dead 2, where the average player-base is a solid 25000 daily? There is a reason most don't play FatShark games and that is because the vast majority of recent titles fail to impress their community.
Generally, these are the sorts of developers you should avoid since they have no clue what they are trying to do with their products other than to earn quick money.

Issues

TapTap
Balance
It's a playtest, so there's no question that a lot of things here need to be adjusted to make it fair for everyone involved, as well as to allow for some meaningful counter-play when playing as either the Hero or as a handful of the Skaven enemies.

When you have a character like the
Iron Breaker, who is practically immortal on his own, and you don't have a Skaven Pactmaster to summon a hoard and snatch him off a cliff or just far away from his allies where you can hoist him to slowly die, you're out of luck because it's more or less a chance you get that choice or the Bile Troll.
If you know what you're doing on either side, it's actually rather lopsided, particularly on the Skaven side on select maps where the Heroes have a significant edge, perhaps one? There aren't many choke places or exploits. Definitely needs work.
TapTap
Exploits & Matchmaking
Oddly enough, the first game I played, I instantly discovered a bunch of exploitable portions, allowing Skaven players to possibly grab and pull their prey out of bounds and away from other heroes. It's really unfair because there is nothing that they can do, you can spawn almost anywhere as long as you're hidden from other players.
TapTap
Length
Some maps have two rounds, others three or even six, thus you don't presently have the option of selecting which one you want to participate in. I didn't really feel like I wanted to play a whole 40 minute game. It doesn't help that the game starts with bots, players taking them over, leaving, returning, and constantly cycling between having a team and having to 2v4 your opponents since the AI doesn't do anything.
It ends up seeming like one of those games where you have play 4v4 and if people leave, you have to wait for others to join in or you can't do anything, and by then, the enemies have most likely won the match because you can't beat them as a 2v4.

Presentation

TapTap
Reskinned Left 4 Dead?
I expected this type of content. Low effort and feeling copied rather than putting a new spin on things. They did not put much thought into the concept of their designs, which all play identically to the Stalkers, Chargers, Smokers, and other infected from Left 4 Dead 2 just tuned towards the design of their characters.
This honestly makes it all feel stale. It doesn't seem like a hoard game at all, but rather like a small group of enemies and (4) players mixed within attempting to take you out one by one while you're distracted and not capable of seeing what is around you.

Gameplay

TapTap
It could be fun but often it's just frustrating
It's mostly about teamwork. It's a 4v4 game mode, you spend the majority of your time trying to plan out your strategies with your teammates on where and what you should do to make steady and fast progress towards your next goal if you're playing Heroes. If you're on the Skaven side, it's more of doing things together at the same time or picking people off one by one. So you find yourself having to speedrun as the heroes through the initial choke points in order to have a fighting chance.
TapTap
Diversity
The game pushes specific roles, so you shouldn't have too much trouble deciding which characters to play, especially since there are so many classes and characters, each with their own set of unique skills and weaponry for you to experiment with and find something you're more comfortable with. I couldn't really find any that I could really get into, it might be because I like to play characters with tons of mobility, such as Rogues, but everything here felt extremely slow even if they were strong.

Conclusion

TapTap
Not very impressive
I can say that I had some fun playing through this again, especially with the rest of the community when it really matched us up as a 4v4 rather than 2v4, 3v4, or 2v2. I believe Vermintide 2 should have been buried and forgotten, not because it is a bad game, but because FatShark simply does more harm when they experiment with new concepts. This may work in the long term and be entertaining, but given their track record. It'll just be another worthless feature in a game that few people want to play.
While it does not feel like 40k Dartide, it does seem like it is being pushed into the ground with these unnecessary changes that so far have been very underwhelming.
