Last True Sword is an example of a game that transforms the art of using a sword into a strategical level. Unlike most action-based games, this title does not let the players continue their bloody rampage and encourages them to pay attention to time & space. The major gameplay element of the game is in executing a sword strike accurately; hence the player gets quite a sense of achievement when they master this skill.
The visuals are not very artistic, but still, it is beneficial in regards to the game’s concept and mechanics. The control and flow of the animations are pretty good, where the every sword slash and block feels realistic. The sound design complements this by offering clear sound signals that are very important especially in timed based attacks.
Difficulty is most evidently a good aspect as the game requires gamers to memorize enemy raids and attack. Whilst this can be somewhat annoying for players who wanted what was presumably a more intense action game, it’s great for people who love detailing themselves in mechanics. It is always a learning process and every win is just sweeter than the other.
But, it becomes vigorous to learn for the new players. It is a fairly non-structured game and therefore you are rather left to your own devices which on the one hand may be useful but on the other hand can be a disadvantage. It is a game for some people depending on which side of the fence they are on; it is fun to some people but boring to others.
All in all, it can be considered that _Last True Sword_ is a rather polished game for those players who are fans of action games with a stressed focus on the skills which the player has to use while fighting. For its part, people do not find it the easiest game to play, but once you master the mechanics of gameplay, then you have something worth having.
