This is a strategy and action game with resource management elements in which the player will have to fight for his life during the zombie apocalypse. Right from start the survival feel is quite apparent since you are required to not only avoid hordes of zombies but also do so while conserving resources.
The most significant aspect that could be considered is that the game is rather strategic. Yes, more than just killing the zombies, it is about planning your moves in order to get out of the game alive. They have to plan how to feed a character and how to manage resources such as weapons and shelter though they have to form alliances or work on your own in this brutal world. This gives it a certain dimension that would turn a mere zombies shooting game into a survival game of a certain degree of complexity.
The fight system is easy to follow but the variety of weapons is presented with unique advantages and disadvantages. There is always an opportunity for sniping, any long distance shooting you fancy or the regular infantry charge and shoot. While advancing, we find out that the equipment has to be upgraded since stronger zombies appear, which are hard to eliminate.
Another aspect that can be considered one of the game’s advantages is that it has a well-developed setting. The setting is somber, but realistic, and that brings a sort of authenticity to the game that cannot be understated. Each and every building or street that has been left behind has a story and hence makes exploration as exciting as combat. The sound is also remarkable, especially while walking through the zombie growls and complete silence that is felt in abandoned places.
But the said difficulty can be merciless during some instances, specifically to the new players in the game. It often feels like one has to work hard before they can reap the benefits but those who love challenges, it will pay off. Survivors of the Zombie World is an action-oriented, extremely tense game which provides a really thrilling experience.
