Guardians of the Galaxy doesn’t just give players awesome and funny moments in space, but also makes you care for the Guardians. You are a superhero called Star-Lord or Peter Quill in this case, and you have to fight for the galaxy’s survival with the help of some unlikely allies: Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot. But it’s not one of them because the game combines combat with relationships, choices, and teamwork all in the framework of an engaging storyline.

Perhaps one of the great strengths of this game is its plot. The plot is elaborated and developed for each of the major characters and displays the character arcs, interactions between characters, and their personal transformations during the story. You will be in entertaining fights which are as funny or serious as you want them to be with cool lines in between. There are quite many surprises, so each chapter looks different from the previous one which is not common with action-adventure games.

Measures of play involve the third person shooting on which the protagonist Star-Lord engages in shooting and giving orders to his partners. At least you can manage Star-Lord straightforwardly, but using real time strategy to command the other Guardians is fun. This means that each character has special talents helpful for fighting these creatures and solving the various puzzles. Because of this, the game makes you decide when and how to use those abilities, especially against tougher enemies.

Aurally the game does not disappoint with a spectacular visuals within the colorful worlds and the character designs which retain its comic-book like feel. Although its audio-visual treatment is a breath of fresh air – enhanced by an ‘80s pop/rock soundtrack.

Altogether, *Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy* is a must play for story enthusiasts and of course for Marvel fans. It messes the humor with action and combines it with a dramatically charged plot to come up with an outstanding space opera.
