Games worth discovering

I really appreciate the somewhat original concept, a cinematic feeling game with lush environments and zombies, and a post apocalyptic theme. unfortunately the game is lacking in some pretty critical areas that keep it from being engaging.
The gunplay is really pretty good. There are several guns and they're all pretty satisfying to shoot, they're the most believable and realistic aspects of this game.
The music is jarring. it is nice and we'll made music, but it is not dynamic or appropriate. it does not suit the environment or the theme, and it does not change based on what's happening. this is essential. It is weird to blast holes in zombies with a shotgun to looping sigur ros music. there is no creepy element in any of it and that's pretty confusing. Each map has just one track that loops forever which is pretty annoying and you cannot shut it off or control any of it in the settings. It is too obviously a loop; film and game music is intended to communicate a lot of feeling with not a lot of complexity. The lack of ambient effects and sound effects make it tiring to listen to this game and I don't understand why this was neglected if the game is all about the cinematic environment.
the UI is pretty uncomfortable and cannot be adjusted. It is unreasonable in an FPS to not have two joysticks to be able to aim while moving.
the walking of the zombies and the character is brutally slow.
There is only one enemy in the whole game that does the same thing over and over, there are very few of them and none of them are a threat...everything is very empty and there's really absolutely nothing to do but shoot a few or run past them and just walk to the end of the level. This is not interesting.
The most critical problem with this game is the total lack of character development and world building. I played this whole game and I still don't know what it's about. What happened? A game that claims to be a cinematic experience must have some degree of world building and distinct atmosphere and there is none of that here. Why is he going where he's going? Where is he going? What are the Zombies? Why is the elephant the only sign of life? Why is he only concerned with adventure and the paths of life when all life has been destroyed and he's fighting for survival with rotting monsters? It is very hard to feel much of anything with the game because there is just nothing at all to relate to. The occasional text displayed below further confuses the focus of the game. They are cryptic and superficial platitudes that just do NOT fit the situation of surviving after humanity was destroyed and being hunted by cannibalistic cadavers. The words read like this is a new age yoga class but it's a post apocalyptic zombie game. This is so confusing. At least some voice acting here would help a lot.
There are several areas where you wander unarmed through a pretty forest. It does look nice, but it's very boring. It does not contribute to anything or have any direction or meaning. The hang gliding part....why?! And it's so long! I get it, the game visually looks pretty green. What else? It's like a walking simulator. And as mentioned before, there are no ambient effects, just some looping music. These parts would be so much more tolerable if there was something to do and if the environment felt more alive.
It has a few glitches but not many(wildly spinning camera at the ending cutscene) and I got stuck once and had to start the level over.
I think this is a fun idea but ultimately severely underdeveloped and amateur. This game was made with a very distinct vision that I appreciate but it really doeant maintain any of that focus, resulting in a confusing and rambling experience. I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings with this, but if some one wants to make games commercially, a whole lot more effort than this is critical to success.
