The sequel to Ender Lilies set several decades after the original story.
The gameplay is much the same but it follows a different character now and the setting/theme has shifted from a Goth fairy to more of a gaslamp (steampunk + magic) fantasy.
The world building is good and there's plenty of lore for you to dive in to as you play the through the game and piece it all together.
There's a number of things here that outshine the prequel such as the improved graphics which in turn gives us better animations, better enemies and capabilities as a whole. From here, the characters all have much more depth which is very welcome which you'll discover as you delve into their conversations and visit key areas for their lore. The setting, environment, characters, and conversations also connect this entry to the previous game. So the game's story won't feel incohesive.
It even has a new upgrade system that you can unlock and use for your relics.
Overall, it's a damn good successor to the original and I enjoyed the game all the way through. The bosses are tough but once you figure them out, they aren't terrible.
But I'm also a fan of Metroidvanias. So I'm biased.
