Early Impressions: Fun Gameplay, But Needs More Real Players

Early Impressions: Fun Gameplay, But Needs More Real Players

I haven't seen anyone talk about this game much online yet so I thought I'd give some thoughts after spending a couple hours on the beta.
TLDR: in it's current state I don't really see there being a reason to play this game unless they fill lobbies with real players -- because right now you'll more than likely end up in a lobby full of bots.
To start with the positives, the immediate gameplay is decent fun. It's an incredibly simple (and short) MOBA, more akin to something like Pokemon Unite. If you're familiar at all with that game you'll probably understand this game's M.O. immediately. The visuals and presentation are overall nice, especially the animations. But if you're looking for a deep MOBA then you're not gonna get it here.
Of course by being a free-to-play game, the main appeal of the game is progression through things like the battle pass (yes, it has a battle pass) and individual character progression (purely cosmetic). You can only unlock heroes by grinding out characters to earn hero tokens or by using dragon gems (which I presume is the game's premium currency but is currently not available to purchase).
The biggest issue with this game right now is that it seems really reluctant to put you into a lobby with other players. I don't know if it's due to low player counts or what, but right now I'm only being put into lobbies with bots which is really not that fun. Maybe this will change as more people start installing the game, but for a day one beta it's really barren.
The game also gets very repetitive very quickly. I've played about 5 matches and they've all played out the exact same. Throughout the match there will be in game events that happen, but they're the exact same for every match and happen with the exact same timing, so it feels like you're playing the same game over and over again.
Pros:
AMUSING AND EASY-TO-PLAY- The game echoes that of a little fast-paced MOBA, which is pretty much Pokémon unite and accessible even to those casual players.
GOOD VISUALS & ANIMATIONS- The characters designed and the animations along with overall presentation are neat and really appealing aesthetically.
FREE-TO-PLAY- GAME IS FREE TO PLAY; hence, the players would be able to try their hands at it without having to invest anything.
CHARACTER PROGRESSIONS & COSMETICS- Has a battle pass and character progression through cosmetics, which offers a little long-term play for anyone who sticks to it.
Cons:
LOBBIES FILLED WITH BOTS- The most critical one because it is actually not having people playing the game. Most of the matches feel repetitive and also do not carry much challenge.
SHALLOWNESS- Lacks comparison with a traditional MOBA, with all the features presented being very simple, offering nothing in-depth regarding strategy.
REPETITIVE MATCHES- Events in the game occur every match at the same time, leading to really stale and predictable play.
PROGRESSION SYSTEM FEELS MONETIZED- Grinding to release characters lets you feel like it is aimed towards the premium currency for players.
LOW PLAYER INTEREST- It seems the game is already missing a player base at all, which makes it difficult to be recommended as a long-term investment.
Kinda baffled by this release in all honesty. I knew people were pretty unenthusiastic about this game coming out, but I was sorta hopeful. But as it is right now, it's just another cash grab dragon ball game.
