Sausage Note No. 12: Server Issues That Latin American Players Care About

I’ve noticed our Latin American players asking on the TapTap forum about increasing servers so they can access Sausage Island sooner.

We have been working tirelessly to make it a reality!

By the end of July, we had deployed the Latin American combat server, but that optimization only covered newly registered Islanders in that region. Some Islanders who registered accounts before we deployed the Latin American server were assigned to the SEA server, causing game issues because of distance from the server.

That said, we want to ask all our LATAM players: Do you notice improvements to network performance after the 1 Sep server suspension update? If so, it’s the result of optimizations to the combat server’s matchmaking algorithm, which now assigns Latin American players to the local server.

We also hope that LATAM players still experiencing high ping problems in some areas can send in feedback on how evident the improvements are. The more detailed the feedback, the faster and better we can address these lingering problems.

Of course, we will never stop improving the gaming experience for everyone! Following the slew of new items, new gameplay, and new skins in the T2 season, the Development team will work hard to add a variety of fresh and fun content to the game. At the same time, the Development and Operations teams will continue to collect Islander opinions to improve the game environment and combat experience, and continue to enrich the game world with strategy guides, community events, and behind-the-scenes news!
