Am a big fan of Pixel Starships so as soon as I saw there was going to be a sequel, it was going to to be a must download.
Now I know this is a very early version of this game but I'm finding this game is so littered with problems, in its current state it's not really worth playing.
- Severe lag
I have a Pixel 7 on android 16, pixel 5 on android 14 and a Xiaomi Poco X3 NFC running MIUI 12. Apart from the Pixel 7, the other two devices make this game seem unplayable where you would swear it's running in single digit frames and both devices are in play store to download this.
- Barely any game content.
Ok it's an early access game you expect little content but here it's so bare bones it's getting impossible to progress. Example - First few hours will play great where you're unlocking new rooms and upgrading your ship at a steady pace. Then all of a sudden you hit the brick wall we all dread to see in games. I still haven't done any exploring outside the solar system at this point and you're given a story mission which is so difficult, I doubt even Captain Kirk would destroy this behemoth of a vessel. And by this point the content has all but dried up. There's literally nothing to do to upgrade and gather loot apart from a couple of generic missions you get each day which will give you around 500xp whereas I need 150k to upgrade my ship to get to next level of upgrade for the rooms. And there doesn't even appear to be any innovation for the sequel. Gameplay is near identical.
This shouldn't have been let loose on the public in this state. It should have stayed with the backers and testers where they could continue working on it until it's in a good state to play.
As a big fan of Pixels Starships I'm finding this an incredibly disappointing experience so far.
