I'm writing my review on TapTap, because on Google Playstore you are restricted to 500 letters, but you need way more to describe what's about that game.
Gameplay:
GoGoMuffin itself is released as an idle game. True for the main story, where you fight monsters and bosses automatically. But every other aspect in the game is not. You have many different ways to strengthen your character and need to gather resources. Some resources reload every 24h, some will be gained through slapping monsters in dungeons or doing daily quests. Then you spend the resources through pulls, baking bread, getting random stories told that transform into stats for your pets, digging for artifacts, training the pets, and so on. All stuff you need to hold your mobile in your hand to keep your hands busy. The dungeons are also not ment to play in idle, because you have always a mechanic that could kill your entire group or hurt you at least badly. On the one hand it is fun, because i love to have a challenge in games, on the other hand there are some players that insist on the "idle" in every aspect of the game, making it difficult to succeed.
Events:
There's always something eventional going on. On my server for example is the 12th paperplane event active. It lasts for 7 days and the the next paperplane event starts. Every turn you can get different prices, making it useful to strenghten your char. BUT as f2p you can't get access to every price. Even if you spend 510 hours a day playing, the last 30% in some events are only accessible when you pay with money. On the paperplane for example you have to pay 100€ to get the last 2 items available in the eventstore.
Other events are completely f2p friendly, rewards are not as useful than in bigger events. To get to the last stage in paperplane you have to save your resources for 3 weeks. Means you can't gain strength in that time. Only through dungeon drops and enhancing gear. Killing the fun. Also most events are repeating. Killing the fun.
Graphics:
Graphics are ok. I have a evenly good phone (Sony 5V) but playing on highest settings turns my mobile in a frying pan. Even on the setup before maximum the phone gets hot. On some bossfights the camera angle isn't very useful. You can't change the angle or it moves back to origin position when you release your finger. This makes some fights, especially against the big dragons, very difficult because you can't see marks on your mates, because they are spread everywhere, leading into death.
Teamplay/Community:
I have to say that the community on our server is very good. Very friendly people, no hate and they always give you a helping hand and good advice. Sadly most players from my country quitted the game because of boredom and mixing the chat servers, that were seperated for each language in the beginning.
You can play main story in a group of two, giving you the chance to get known for each other and making bounds. But also putting you under preassure to log in each day, to get your afk bonuses and lvl up in the same speed as your mate. But if you fall behind, you can buy a 5% exp bonus for 30 days in the shop for 10€!
Classes:
There are 4 classes until now, that will walk through different class changes (cc). Every cc will change your element and sometimes your "weapon". I chose shadowlash as my main class. I thought i will get a swift and fast hitting class, that is outstanding in damage in most games. But here somehow the thief class is getting worse with every upgrade. In dragon fights i'm only there for buffing the dmg of others because i can't be useful with my actual stats. Archers with 500k less power than me will do 3 times the damage of me. I'm not playing on the wrong stats, because every class is played with the same stats and everybody plays with the same skills. The class changes with chakrams at the shadowlash are horribly rng-heavy, because your whole dmg depends on one ability, that has to land a "lucky crit" (when crit and determination is triggered in the same hit). Other classes just use each of their abilities and do high dmg all the time (expect tanks and acolythe on heal spec). When you reach new cc, you get new level talent points, to increase your stats but they can't be spent on previous classchanges skill trees, so you are forced to play always the actual cc. Even if the gameplay doesn't suit you.
Gear and stats:
Rerolling gear for better stats is also rng. You have different stats, that can be on your gear. Weapon, ring and hands have only offensive stats, body, boots and something else only defensive stats and rest is totally rng. Also the stats can have levels from 1 to 5, with lvl5 having way more stats than lvl4. Also a lvl5 roll can have higher and lower stats. Rolling a piece of gear with perfect stats is close to impossible. And you get new accessiories in every area with always different set bonus. But you have to take them because of the higher stats. Because when your character levels up, you need more status points to hold your crit% or accuracy, leading you to reroll all gear again to compensate the different set bonus. So you are always low on reroll material, what ends in unbalanced stats or spending €s. I also never saw a gear drop with perfect stats or with all stats on lvl 5. They are always crap and have to be rerolled.
Result:
It feels like the game designers don't understand their own game. They wanted to create an idle game, but most of the game is not idle. Stuff in shops is expensive as hell. Sure, servers have to be paid somehow, but 140€ for a cosmetic set without any stats is just wtf. Events where you have to pay 100€+ to get the maximum rewards and we have already the 12th of the same...wtf
Repeating events, repeating bosses and monsters, classes with repeating outfits and weapons... You don't feel that the designers put any efford in the game. I just keep playing because i like the people on my server.
I spend about 30€ a month for the game to keep up with cute costumes or exp bonus but i'm veeery far away to be one of the bigger fishes, that are far away from the whales, doing tons of damage and beeing on every leaderboard, hours after the release of new content.
