"A racing game that revs up with style but crashes hard in execution"
🎮 Gameplay: This game tries it's best to look badass with its graphics but the physics ruins everything. I tested two cars with drastically different stats. The lower-tier car was so hard to turn that's it's nearly unturnable and the higher-tier car turns like it's possessed, crashing into every damn corner like it's got a death wish. Also you got some invisible wall on the track which you'll hit everytime and all of this together, you've got one of the worst racing gameplay experiences. [6.2/10]
{EDIT: The reason for the god awful controls were a specific control scheme. I think I was using 'tap on the left or right of the screen to turn' control scheme. When you use 'arrow keys to turn' the controls become much better. But the turning physics still looks goofy and bad. So due to this change, the gameplay rating which was initially 2/10 got bumped to 6.2/10.}
📖 Storyline: There is a story mode and many other game modes like time trial, chase, etc.. But the story mode is absolutely ass. I can write a better story than ts when I'm drunk and high asf. [2/10]
🕹️ Controls: The game offers tilt and two touch control schemes: arrow buttons or tapping left/right sides of the screen. Default is tap-to-turn (tap on left or right side of the screen), with swipe up for nitro and swipe down to brake/drift. Auto-acceleration is on by default, and turning it off is a trap, because you lose access to brakes completely, dumb af. Controller support exists, but I didn’t test it. [5/10]
{EDIT: The flaw of the controls can be overlooked it you choose 'arrow keys to turn', even though it feels restrictive. Since the controls get better, the initial rating which was 3.5/10, gets bumped up to 5/10.}
🚀 Travel & Transportation: There’s a solid looking lineup of vehicles, but you’re not gonna drive them unless you pay. Everything is locked behind a paywall, and grinding is meaningless. The car models are designed to resemble real ones without matching them (licensing dodge), but the result is cars that just look off and goofy. [5.9/10]
🎨 Graphics: The graphics on high settings are kinda nice. Good lighting, sharp shadows, and a crisp look overall. But then those awkward car models drag it down. Visual potential is there, but it's wasted on everything else being a mess. So in conclusion, the attempt at a pseudo, AAA shading leads to a cheap feel at certain angles and lighting – but still, better than most of the slop you find on the appstore anyway. [7/10]
🎧 Sound: The car sounds ain't it. The sound for rev limit is just a stutter of the engine sound, which is not realistic at all. [4/10]
👩👧👦 Character Customization: Paint jobs only. And even those are limited to preset colors per car [2.9/10]
🎖️ Progression System: This is where the game hits rock bottom. You can’t unlock cars without dropping cash. Game modes outside the campaign are also locked behind a paywall. The only real “progress” is unlocking the next mission. It's basically a free demo that forgot to tell you it's a demo. [6.3/10]
{EDIT: If you're able to unlock the whole content of the game, then the progression system would actually feel unique when compared to the other racing games. You can only choose a set amount of cars for each race – No need to grind money or anything. Just a set amount of cars will be given to you for your choosing to race away. You have to consider the stats of the car like Speed, Acceleration etc while you make your choice. So the initial rating, which was 1.9/10, was increased to a 6.3/10}
👍 Pros:
- Decent graphics
- Offline
👎 Cons:
- Terrible physics
- Every single thing behind paywalls
- Zero progression unless money paid
💖 Overall Experience: Has potential... But with clunky physics, broken controls, a greedy progression model, and cars that handle like they’re drunk, it fails on nearly every front. Outside of the graphics, there’s not much to enjoy here unless you’re a glutton for punishment, or a whale with a wallet. [3.6/10]
{Due to some core changes that were integrated into this review as a result of deeper analysis into the gameplay system, the initial review rating of 3.6/10 was changed to a 4.9/10}
