The Baby in Yellow Review—Babysitting Takes a Thrilling Turn for the Worse

Time may seem to have slowed to a crawl on certain days, yet they appear to have whizzed by on other weeks or even months.

Clocks have been invented to help us keep track of time, but they seem to emphasise just how long a second can actually feel when we stare at them.

Such is the case for me, as I yearn for Halloween to emerge from the darkness.

Well, I’d say that Halloween wouldn’t be the same if there weren’t a good dose of demonic babies (or babysitters) and some helpless victims. As such, I couldn’t help myself from indulging in yet another fear-inducing horror game.

As I’m writing this, I’ve begun the wee hours of my morning with Team Terrible’s short horror game—The Baby in Yellow.

I guess I probably have yet another reason not to have children... Fantastic! I mean, just look at the baby! Isn’t it just one bloody creepy baby (Come pick me up, mum! I’m scared 😭)???

Anyway, you started off playing the part of an ordinary babysitter who is utterly clueless about what’s in store for you in this horrifying game.

True to its namesake, I was first greeted by a baby in yellow in a highchair when I first loaded the game. Regardless of wherever I went, his eyes seemed to be burning holes right through me (Oof! Those unsettling eyes of his!).

With a cold sense of dread, I gradually notice that something is amiss as I complete the instructions as indicated. Nappies going through walls, getting locked in rooms, and the devilish baby teleporting to another part of the house.

As one day bleeds into another, those meandering thoughts drift through my head—Will the baby remain quietly in bed? Will this baby be the death of me? What other stuff is the baby going to pull?Although no commotions will occur when you drop the baby, it seems that the lack of feeding will. Much like the satanic version of The Incredibles’ Jackjack, the baby just reveals how this gig is beyond my paygrade.

Well, I... erm... shall just leave this here... 😅

On a different note, the only thing that I dislike about this is the sudden appearance of ads as soon as a chapter ends. Sure, I may not have to sit through long ads, but I still find that they are a great way to disrupt the momentum and atmosphere built up since the beginning of the game.

In any case, please feel free to take over from here if you’re courageous enough to babysit this monstrosity.
