Fake Future has an intriguing concept and fantastic visuals, but it's held back by a clunky translation. This sci-fi citybuilder is set in a retro-futuristic version of earth. You control a group of artificial beings known as cybernoids as they work to recolonize Earth. While Fake Future started me off with plenty of quests, it didn't have any sort of tutorial, so it took me a while to get a handle on the gameplay. The in-game text doesn't always make sense, and the unclear quest objectives left me feeling confused and overwhelmed.

It's a really captivating game until you reach a point of long-term frustration owing to the farming and backtracking, which takes up a significant amount of your time. Pocket City 2 is a solid citybuilder packed with interesting features. The basic gameplay loop is pretty standard—place roads, construct buildings, earn money for more buildings—but there are unique mechanics that take things in an exciting new direction. Whenever I needed a break from building, I could jump into my city, walk around, and explore. Not only was this a great way to see my city up close, but I actually made some pretty cool discoveries, like a hammer I could use to repair roads for free. There's even a photo mode, so I could snap pictures of all my favorite spots.
