Pocket City 2 is a solid citybuilder packed with interesting features. The basic gameplay loop is pretty standard—place roads, construct buildings, earn money for more buildings—but there are unique mechanics that take things in an exciting new direction. Whenever I needed a break from building, I could jump into my city, walk around, and explore. Not only was this a great way to see my city up close, but I actually made some pretty cool discoveries, like a hammer I could use to repair roads for free. There's even a photo mode, so I could snap pictures of all my favorite spots.

The Balseph fight in Tales of Arise is a strong early-game boss battle that sets the tone for the rest of the game. Balseph, the Lord of Calaglia, is a challenging opponent, especially since players are still getting used to the combat system. His fiery attacks and imposing presence make the fight feel intense. The battle requires strategic use of dodging, blocking, and the Boost Strikes mechanic to deal with his large health pool. For me, the fight is memorable because it’s the first major test of the party's abilities, forcing players to use all the tools at their disposal effectively. It also serves as a great introduction to the game’s themes of resistance and liberation. The satisfaction of taking down Balseph after the buildup of the oppressive environment of Calaglia is a rewarding experience. SHOULD I PLAY WITCHSPRING R? WitchSpring R instantly reminded me of the Atelier series, so if you’re a fan of those games, you won’t want to miss this one. It’s an incredibly cute and charming RPG, but it’s not shallow either. There’s real depth to its gameplay and characters, and its story is much more interesting than it initially seems to be. It’s a great mix of a fantasy adventure and a slice-of-life story, and that combination is hard to resist.

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it if you’re a fan of farming games. Everdream Valley has modern 3D graphics, but it feels like it could be a hidden prequel to Stardew Valley or Harvest Moon. SHOULD I PLAY RUNE FACTORY 3 SPECIAL? If you’re a farming game fan, you won’t want to miss this, especially if you skipped the original Rune Factory 3 on the Nintendo DS. Rune Factory 3 Special is a lovingly crafted remaster of one of the best games in the Rune Factory series. It’s a wonderful blend of farming, slice-of-life social mechanics, and action RPG combat. There are times when it feels a little dated, but overall, it’s a pretty fantastic package. It’s the perfect game to play while you curl up under a blanket on a cozy fall day.

DANMACHI BATTLE CHRONICLE, IS IT WORTH IT? Hey There! Well, I'm back at it again with a new mobile game, as today I'll be covering DanMachi BATTLE CHRONICLE. As a long-time follower of the show, I was a fair bit curious to see how the world was treated, and just how well they could translate it to a  stage-based Hack n' Slash. And as far as my first impressions go? It's not that bad, really.  For those familiar with the story, it runs players through summary-size versions of the various arcs, throwing players through various bite-sized battle stages, and interspersing them with enough story segments to tell the story. Obviously, the narrative does suffer a touch for this- but, given it's appealing to people already familiar with the show, I wasn't overly bothered. Frankly, I was here to beat up monsters- and on that front, the combat isn't too bad. Each of the various characters you unlock has a basic combo, as well as a pair of skills and an ultimate attack that charges as you whack monsters. What's more, you're able to bring up to 3 playable characters into each dungeon dive- so there's a neat bit of strategy involved with figuring out who you want to bring in based on their skills, elemental affinities - or, whoever you feel will prevail with the power of violence. Overall, it's decent enough- though, the way enemies' defence and offence scale if you're under-levelled, in tandem with the time limit on stages, does make things a bit aggravating at times. Also, PVP turns the game into an auto-battler, which is an admittedly weird design decision.

SHOULD I PLAY BANDLE TALE? Play it if you like cozy games and don’t mind a title that’s a little more structured. Bandle Tale takes place in the League of Legends universe, but you won’t find intense action and competition here. It’s a laid-back, adorable crafting game set in a world powered by yarn and parties. The early segments were a little too on rails for my liking, but Bandle Tale is undeniably charming, and the game does open up later on.
