The Day Before is officially the worst game I’ve ever played

SHOULD I PLAY THE DAY BEFORE? Please skip this game. Don’t hurt yourself like this. The Day Before offers nothing but painful technical issues, boring extraction shooter gameplay, unpolished visuals, and a series of other problems that make this game not even worth considering. TIME PLAYED I played The Day Before for two and a half hours. I completed the first chapter and a few missions, but due to incredibly bad technical issues, I could not continue playing. This mobile hack-and-slash RPG has plenty of demon-slaying, but it's no Diablo

SHOULD I PLAY BLADE X: ODYSSEY OF HEROES? Skip it, unless you really enjoy hack-and-slash games. Blade X: Odyssey of Heroes offers an action-packed hack-and-slash combat experience with RPG elements, like skill enhancements, gear upgrades, and character leveling. Unfortunately, it’s dragged down by repetitive gameplay, a lack of rewards, and a bunch of annoying microtransaction and ad promotions. TIME PLAYED

A janky but charmingly unique MMO take on the zombie apocalypse - Undawn Quick Review

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it if you’re looking for a more lighthearted, casual-friendly way to pass some time killing the undead, but be prepared to encounter some jank. Undawn is the latest MMO from Level Infinite, the same publisher that brought us Tower of Fantasy, and it shares some similarities with that game...and some big differences. Most notably, Undawn trades in the more traditional mix of fantasy, sci-fi, and anime aesthetics for a modern world that has been wrecked by a zombie apocalypse. This game’s vision of the end of the world is anything but generic, though. Even though some elements are frustrating or underdeveloped, I can’t help but feel charmed by this weird little game.

Play Monster Hunter on mobile in this Pokémon Go clone - Monster Hunter Now Quick First Impressions

SHOULD I PLAY MONSTER HUNTER NOW? Skip it unless you’re really itching for a Pokémon Go alternative. Monster Hunter Now is the latest Pokémon Go clone from Niantic, and while it’s entertaining enough, it doesn’t capture the qualities that make Monster Hunter great. There are plenty of familiar monsters to fight, like Pukei-Pukei and Barroth, but the battles aren’t much more than a series of button taps. I love the idea of

Only absolute evilness can help you conquer the world in this real-time strategy game

SHOULD I PLAY DUNGEONS 4? Play it, especially if you love real-time strategy games. Dungeons 4 offers an insanely fun real-time strategy experience that covers the basics that fans like myself have grown to love from games like Age of Empires 2 and Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne. Its campaign introduces a fresh perspective into the standard formula by making the player the villain instead of the classic hero. This game is all about being absolutely evil, and I loved every second of that wickedness. While ruling over demons and undead monsters does take some time and attention,

Kingdom: The Blood turns Netflix’s hit Korean zombie show into a shallow action game

SHOULD I PLAY KINGDOM: THE BLOOD? If you’re a huge fan of Netflix’s Kingdom and are looking for a lightweight, grindy action game, this one might be worth checking out. Kingdom: The Blood adapts the mix of historical thriller and zombie horror from that streaming series into a fairly basic action game where you move through levels slicing up zombies, performing combos, and taking on powerful bosses. What’s here isn’t bad by any means, but it feels very stripped-down and bare-bones at the moment, so if you’re interested in something deeper, it may leave you wanting.

Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat has gone through a major downgrade, but it’s still a solid action game

SHOULD I PLAY DEVIL MAY CRY: PEAK OF COMBAT? It’s worth checking out, but you might want to keep your expectations in check, especially if you played the beta. I was really impressed with Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat during its beta, but since then, the combat system has been seriously downgraded. Characters now have only one basic attack button, which makes it much harder to string together combos. The original weapon switching system has been replaced with character swapping, which makes individual characters less customizable. It’s still a good mobile action game, but it’s lacking the kind of complexity I crave from a

For me I vote for Left 4 Dead. Because with all that hordes and different zombies like the tanker and witch it makes you overwhelmed when they chase you and sometimes can't even shoot because of the amount of Zombies. But still for me its the best

Resident Evil 4 on iPhone is the worst way to play one of the best games of all time

Resident Evil 4 is a game I’d recommend to absolutely anyone. It’s a masterpiece of the survival horror genre, with smooth, satisfying combat and some fantastically spooky set pieces. The original was already a stone-cold classic, but the 2023 remake refined its graphics and gameplay mechanics, making the game feel better than ever. It’s something that everyone should play at least once, but if you have literally any other options, you probably shouldn’t play it on mobile.

Perhaps not the most horrific... but the Xenomorph from alien isolation is has the most brilliant monster AI in any survival game. It adapts to your every move. It's so incredible, the IGN reviewer gave it a low score saying "the AI is too smart" indirectly saying the monster AI is smarter than him 🤣

A free Silent Hill game that doesn't suck? Silent Hill: The Short Message is P.T. for a new era

SHOULD I PLAY SILENT HILL: THE SHORT MESSAGE? Definitely play it if you have a PlayStation 5 and are open to horror games that tackle darker subject matter. Silent Hill: The Short Message is a completely free title with no monetization whatsoever. While it tells a standalone story, there are also hints at what we might see in future Silent Hill games, like Silent Hill f and Townfall. After the disaster

An evolution of the Vampire Survivors clone... literally! - Bio Prototype Quick Review

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it if you’re at all a fan of Vampire Survivors and its many clones and imitators. Bio Prototype takes the one-tiny-character-versus-hundreds-of-baddies and adds in a healthy dose of science. You play as a lab experiment gone wrong. Instead of just leveling up and unlocking a growing list of power-ups, you earn both internal and external body parts and must work out a functioning evolutionary path for your creation. This extra layer of depth adds a ton to an already addictive genre of games.

The Binding of Isaac meets Dark Souls in this addictive dungeon crawler

SHOULD I PLAY DEVIL SLAYER RAKSASI? Totally play this. Devil Slayer Raksasi takes the top-down roguelite approach of The Binding of Isaac and layers on a dark fantasy vibe that would be at home in a FromSoft game. This tough but addictive combination left me wanting to keep playing even after I’d wrapped up the demo. Thankfully it has multiple characters to try! PLAY IT FOR YOURSELF From December 23, 2023, through January 7, 2024, TapTap is running our Pocket Playfest Winter Edition. Surprise! Konami is putting out a new free Silent Hill game on PS5...today!

Horror fans are still eagerly awaiting the upcoming remake of Silent Hill 2, but Konami made a surprise reveal today that makes the wait just a little less painful. During today's State of Play stream, Sony played a trailer for Silent Hill: The Short Message, a new free Silent Hill game that will launch of PlayStation 5 later today. Konami describes The Short Message as a "short-form" Silent Hill title that's meant to be the first of a wave of new Silent Hill games to help revive the franchise. Apparently they're not counting

Get sent on a roguelike mission from the Vatican in stylish horror shooter Witchfire

Developer The Astronauts hasn't put out a game since 2014's brilliant adventure game The Vanishing of Ethan Carter. Their next project has finally entered early access, though, and it's very cool and very different from their last release...in a good way! The new game is titled Witchfire, and while it shares spooky vibes with The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, the core of the game is a roguelike shooter. If that change sounds jarring, you should know that much of the team at The Astronauts was previously at developer People Can Fly, the studio behind satisfyingly over-the-top shooters like
