The Indie Spotlight is back. Considering the enthusiastic participation in past game demos and spotlight events, we have invited more indie game developers and publishers to join this event. SHOULD I PLAY CHILDREN OF THE SUN? Check this out if you enjoyed the hidden genius of hyper-violent indie games like Superhot or Hotline Miami. Children of the Sun looks like a lo-fi, pulp sendup of the Sniper Elite series, but it’s really more of a puzzle game about creating the perfect trajectory for a single demonically possessed rifle bullet. As a masked young woman, your job is to scout each location from the perimeter, line up the perfect shot, and fire—and then, as your bullet strikes your victim, redirect the bullet to continue its path into the next creepy cultist. You get one shot per map to clear out all the cultists, so you need to use every advantage available to pull it off.

BROK the InvestiGator is a mesh of old-school gaming tropes, combining the classic point-and-click adventure format with arcade-y beat-em-up action. It is up to the player to decide what kind of detective Brok will be in this grim world, brought to life with the game’s gorgeously illustrated 90’s cartoon aesthetic. But don’t let the vibrant colors fool you; the world Brok lives in is far from sunshine and rainbows.

BROK the InvestiGator is what happens when you combine old-school point-and-click adventure games with the arcadey fun of classic beat-em-ups. As a mobile port of the PC and console game, BROK the InvestiGator puts players into the shoes of Brok, an alligator detective who tries to make a living as an investigator for hire in the slums. Adventure is point-and-click, making Brok dig deep into his surroundings for clues and info he can glean as he works on the case.

Top down action Roguelike game you have to kill a horde of monster you can select different weapons upgrade, it's good though actually had fun. 🎮 Gameplay: 10/7 🕹️ Controls: 10/9 🎨 Graphics: 10/6 🎵 Sound: 10/10

📖 Storyline: Not much of a story game so if you're in for that.. don't bother. 🎮 Gameplay: Amazing! Trying to combine many different aspects and it actually works! You have Gathering, Crafting, Sneaking, Hunting and Survival (Hunger) all while exploring the world and trying to find the secret green skulls. You can take your time in each level as there is no time limit and there is no death penalty with checkpoints for respawning

SHOULD I PLAY BROK THE INVESTIGATOR? If you’re into puzzles, point-and-click adventures, light RPG elements, and beat ’em up action, then Brok the InvestiGator is the game to check out. It immediately drew me in with its beautiful hand-drawn animation, fully voiced dialogue, and snappy writing. The blended game elements fit together perfectly, making this a fun title with plenty of components to explore. Most importantly, I could play the first chapter entirely free of charge, though it’s totally worth the $7.99 investment for the full game.

SHOULD I PLAY PACIFIC DRIVE? Definitely play this game if you’re into paranormal settings, looting and crafting, or if you just like the idea of driving around in a car you have to build and maintain on your own. Pacific Drive has been the number one indie on my list since I saw the first trailer last year. Now that I’ve played through the Steam Next Fest demo, I’m champing at the bit to get back in the driver’s seat of my beat-up station wagon and explore further into the Olympic Exclusion Zone.

SHOULD I PLAY STORMGATE? You should definitely check Stormgate out if you have fond memories of playing head-to-head real-time strategy games like StarCraft II or...actually you know what, this really is mainly for the StarCraft oldheads out there. Stormgate looks, feels, and plays very similarly to Blizzard’s landmark game that dominated the RTS scene for many years, and that’s no coincidence—all of its lead developers helped create
