Winner of the Day: Minds Beneath Us Minds Beneath Us takes the spotlight in Day 9 of the Pocket Playfest, captivating players with its immersive cyberpunk narrative and innovative gameplay. This game's triumph (twice!) is a testament to its engaging storytelling and well-executed sci-fi thriller elements. Acknowledging CD 2: Trap Master CD 2: Trap Master, despite its remarkable strategy gameplay, couldn't secure a win in this round. However, it’s not the end of the line for this inventive tower defense card game. CD 2: Trap Master is set for another round of competition, facing Heaven Dust 2 on January 2nd. This matchup promises to be a thrilling encounter.

I gave this one a quick go during the PocketPlayfest winter 2023. Great strategic gameplay with a ton of potential. This game compares favorably to Roguebook, another deck building, rogue like, auto-battler, and one of my favorites. The mechanics are interesting, but familiar and the gameplay is about what you'd expect. I'm assuming this pre-release version is missing some animations and graphical refinement. There were also some weird quirks in the text elements that could do with a grammar check, but all were minor. I'll definitely be bagging this one when it comes out!

✨Overview I’ve been on a rogue-like roll recently, and now we’re about to cover yet another game the in the genre with Wild Legion, an upcoming rogue-like survival game with some refreshing twists. I recently played the Demo available on Steam and it’s basically Brotato on steroids, featuring auto-attack horder survival gameplay filled with elements taken from other genres such as tower defense, twin-stick shooting, crafting, and questing. The game is still under development, and set to be release in Early Access on Q1 2024.

When I first tried Pesticide Not Required, I was pleasantly surprised by its addictive gameplay and original concept. This is an exciting roguelike game combining horde survival with farming elements, and adding Bullet Hell mechanics to it. The game character, the frog, gives the game a unique flavor, and the minimum system requirements make it accessible to a wide audience. For me, another big advantage of the game was the possibility of cloud gaming.
