[Pocket Playfest 2023 Winter Edition] Gigabash Review

GigaBash is a thrilling multiplayer arena brawler that seamlessly blends the chaos of titles like Power Stone, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters with the awe-inspiring scale of classic kaiju movies. The game invites players to claim their place as king among Titans, offering a choice between rampaging Titans and Titan-hunting mechas. The game has been out on PC and consoles since last year, and has recently got its Ultraman DLC, following the Godzilla DLC last year.

I gave this one a quick go during the PocketPlayfest winter 2023. Great strategic gameplay with a ton of potential. This game compares favorably to Roguebook, another deck building, rogue like, auto-battler, and one of my favorites. The mechanics are interesting, but familiar and the gameplay is about what you'd expect. I'm assuming this pre-release version is missing some animations and graphical refinement. There were also some weird quirks in the text elements that could do with a grammar check, but all were minor. I'll definitely be bagging this one when it comes out!

Rampaging Titans and Titan-hunting Mechas for PC, now possible on Mobile (Cloud) | GigaBash

Pocket Playfest: An Indie Celebration 2023 Winter Edition In a recent hands-on exclusive experience this past weekend, I had the privilege of testing a handful of titles on TapTap's experimental cloud gaming service, setting the stage for this 16-day event where indie game developers show-off their creations exclusively on the TapTap mobile platform — fully playable PC games without the need for an actual PC, Android/iOS version, or the need to download the games and install them.  Granted, you’d need to have a reliable internet service to be able to stream these games, and preferably are located in US and Canada for consistent play and latency, at least for now.

It is a gem since it is like a trip to the past with classic games but with a Plus since it has very good graphics, very good and intuitive gameplay too although In which it leaves much to be desired since it is repetitive and it is as if it were a clone of any other of the same genre Still, it is a great game and I highly recommended 😀

"Gigabash delivers an exhilarating and action-packed experience, blending vibrant visuals with intense gameplay. The diverse roster of characters and dynamic arenas add depth to the fast-paced battles, creating an engaging multiplayer environment. While the learning curve may be steep for newcomers, the payoff is well worth it, offering a satisfying mix of strategy and chaos. Gigabash is a must-try for fans of the brawler genre, providing hours of fun and competition." Overall Good

Combo Card Clashers is a fun new take on Slay the Spire's deck-building adventure

SHOULD I PLAY COMBO CARD CLASHERS? Definitely give this demo a try, especially if you like card games. Similar to games like Slay the Spire, this combo allows for plenty of twists and endless possibilities. PLAY IT FOR YOURSELF From December 23, 2023, through January 7, 2024, TapTap is running our Pocket Playfest Winter Edition. That means you don't need to take our review as the final word; you can try playing this game yourself! If you live in the United States or Canada, you can test out any of the ten games featured in the Pocket Playfest using our cloud gaming technology. Combo Card Clashers is a fun new take on Slay the Spire's deck-building adventure
When I think of card based roguelikes, lots of games come to mind. This game adds the element of combos to the mix and has my attention more then a lot of the others. Your cards are not one and done. You add them to your combo and your attack grows each round. Can you afford the health to get a super powerful combo attack? That adds a lot more thinking and strategy then some of the other deck building games. I am watching this game for its future.

would I recommend it? If you dig classic horror and don't mind a few technical hiccups, then hell yeah! Just pack your patience, a map, and maybe a whole lotta ammo. This ain't no walk in the park, but for horror fans like me, the scares are totally worth it.
