Going in, I thought this was just an Infinitode clone. Boy, am I glad I was wrong! Refractor is a pixel tower defense game with the idea that you could influence the path that the enemies would walk through. Personally, I like the art style. There's really just something nostalgic with pixel-art games that really draws me in. With regards to the game mechanics, it really is just a tower defense game with a few innovations. Each turret you build has a set of random neutral tiles that can serve as the enemies pathway. This game element is what really drives the strategy here since you have to be careful in placing turrets if you also want to extend the enemies path to the end portal.

Tetris🤝TD = Refactor. You have to protect your base from the enemy by strategically placing turrets. There are five element turrets - Fire, Water, Earth, Wood and Metal. You need tokens to place turrets and the cost decreases after every round. You have to choose among three turrets placed on three tetris tiles. After choosing one, you can rotate it to increase the distance between your home base(blue tile) and the enemy spawn point(red tile).

✨Overview Core Devourer is an upcoming rogue-lite survival top-down shooter of what seems like a mash up of two of the best rogue-like games in the genre: Risk of Rain 2 and Vampire Survivors. Redeem code: m98gP5Ad   This is from my 30min experience, so far the game is interesting, the puzzles aren't complex, deducing clues from notes are fun and aren't hard nor easy, it's good for casual players (like me who aren't into horror games). I like the tiny detail that whenever you die, your corpse becomes infected. The ambient sounds really sets the mood.     On the other hand, so far (30min in) the story is good but I don't find it interesting, some parts of the game don't make sense(?). Personally, I'm not a fan of portrait mode although others like it. Overall I'd give it an 8/10.

It's still on demo so there isn't that much to play. Basically, the whole game is just an incomplete tutorial. I say incomplete because clearly, there are more gameplay mechanics they haven't taught me yet. Despite having very little to offer, this game does a great job on providing me with the unique experience of being a hacker doing detective works. And story is not bad at all. The graphics is very beautiful, it has that mesmerizing retro vibes. Imho, the art is best part of the game.
