Pocket Playfest 2023 - 23rd of December until 7th of January This holiday season there’s going to be something extraordinary… Let me introduce TapTap MOBILE CLOUD GAMING!! You’ll be presented with a series of original PC indie games that have been ported to MOBILE for the first time before anyone else. You’ll find these exclusively on TapTap! Each day two new indie games will be offered to be played and users from North America will have a 30-minute window per day to play them. Refactor is a pretty great tower defense and totally worth playing, but I still had a few complaints. First, the tutorial. It's a lot. I was bored out of my mind by that much reading. The game doesn't allow you to simply play and have fun. It makes you read all the tutorial text, even then some of the stuff the character is explaining is pretty obvious, or that you could easily learn by yourself. The build button has no comeback option, so I can't cancel it after touching it. Sometimes I didn't find good builds to build in that round, but I was forced for the game lack of a cancel button in this option.

Pocket Playfest: An Indie Celebration 2023 Winter Edition In a recent hands-on exclusive experience this past weekend, I had the privilege of testing a handful of titles on TapTap's experimental cloud gaming service, setting the stage for this 16-day event where indie game developers show-off their creations exclusively on the TapTap mobile platform — fully playable PC games without the need for an actual PC, Android/iOS version, or the need to download the games and install them.  Granted, you’d need to have a reliable internet service to be able to stream these games, and preferably are located in US and Canada for consistent play and latency, at least for now.

One aspect that set this game apart from others through Cloud Gaming was the user interface's of shooting with a weapon. The weapons serve almost no purpose due to the requirement of aiming with one's finger until it locks onto the creature, which severely restricts movement. Following that, you must release your finger from the target after pressing the gun icon which locks it in place.

✨Overview I first learned about Heaven Dust via TapTap’s Pocket Playfest event, and it offered a mix of puzzle-solving, exploration, and classic zombie survival gameplay on Mobile, creating a well-rounded experience that we are all familiar with, thanks to the classic Resident Evil games. Now, that game has a sequel with Heaven Dust 2, already out on PC since last year. It features the same style of gameplay but with upgraded graphics, gameplay, and a new standalone story.

Prime of Flames is a wargame/rougelike hybrid with tons of charm in its design. Initially released on Steam just last December, the version I'm reviewing now is the demo for its mobile port. Off-the-bat, the character designs got me hooked! There's just something in how each character was drawn. In my opinion, they're just so pleasing to the eye! And it's not just the characters. The entire game itself is designed to look a bit like it was a storybook fantasy.

Alright, so, basically dwerve is a game that was released a yer ago for pc, but now they are developing the mobile version, i think its a really good idea to simplificate the game for mobile gamers, knowing that the mobile game indistry generates more benefits than the pc games, so, i need to say that i never played the pc version, but i informed myself after playing this beta, dwerve is a very original rpg tower defensa game, that mixes zelda 8 bit artwork style and mystcal history, with a very good live combat with the enemies, once you progress the history you unlock new weapons, upgrades like some other rpg games, but with the diference of the runes, item that you colect trough the story and defines the capacity of your weapons, a very good idea, and very well adaptad to mobile controls.

Detective Hackett is your typical rough-n-tumble man of action! While his reasoning skills are little dull,his instincts are razor sharp and his metaphors are a solid 6/10. Click here for more info!#

Innovation Since the start of the event, I've been talking about the things we can find in Indie games. I had a big surprise with Dwerve and now with this game. The name of the game, the history and all the innovation in the gameplay and again.... The graphics are simple, but you notice all the richness of details according to the game's proposal. The demo turned out to be a bit small😅 We are simply thrown into the game and fight, die, repeat. To be honest, without character upgrades, it’s not very interesting, although I would have played longer if there were at least a little more mechanics and interactions. Well, let's wait for the release of this game and then we'll see what kind of Roguelike it is. This game is definitely worth watching.🤔

Redeem code: m98gP5Ad   This is from my 30min experience, so far the game is interesting, the puzzles aren't complex, deducing clues from notes are fun and aren't hard nor easy, it's good for casual players (like me who aren't into horror games). I like the tiny detail that whenever you die, your corpse becomes infected. The ambient sounds really sets the mood.     On the other hand, so far (30min in) the story is good but I don't find it interesting, some parts of the game don't make sense(?). Personally, I'm not a fan of portrait mode although others like it. Overall I'd give it an 8/10.
