Solo-dev indie game âClaws of Power (^_^) meowâŚ
Hi everyone, Iâm Garlic Sprout. I used to work as a game artist, and now Iâm making my own little indie game called âClaws of Powerâ. đ¸ In Claws of Power, you spend dried fish to summon cats onto the battlefield, and your goal is to push down the enemy base to win. At first glance it looks like a super simple âspend cost, send catsâ casual game⌠but if you look a bit closer, thereâs actually a lot to play with. New commanders often spam cats the moment they have enough fish, only to watch two enemy cats completely beat up their two cats and walk away alive. Thatâs when you discover the first key idea: đ Save your cost and control your units â donât just throw out random cats. Wait a bit, build up enough cost, then send out a proper wave. Suddenly the battle feels very different. The second little detail: đ The closer the fight is to your own base, the better it is for you. If the frontline is too far forward, your âbackup catsâ are still running while your first wave is already wiped, and you end up doing the classic âone cat goes in, one cat diesâ rescue chain. If you keep the battle line near your base, reinforcements arrive much faster, and you can build a proper wall of fluffy meow-meow units. Then comes the fun part: cats and their skills. Aside from the starter cat, every cat has its own unique ability: ⢠Fat Meow does a flying pounce and scatters the enemy formation. ⢠Xiao Fuâs basic attack always knocks enemies back (the bigger they are, the less they move). ⢠Chubby Orange heals itself by eating fish when its HP gets low. ⢠Chi Wulangâs very first slash is a huge 200% crit! Right now there are already 30+ different cats, with skills that counter and interact with each other. You can really âadapt on the fly, counter on the spot, and outplay with timingâ just by choosing when and what to summon. Next is the equipment system. Each cat has 1â2 equipment slots, and the same item can feel totally different on different cats, so youâre encouraged to experiment and find your own best builds: ⢠The cheapest little Bon Jack feels weak in the late game⌠but give him extra HP and ATK, and he turns into a tiny, scary gremlin. ⢠Put +ATK and +CRIT gear on Chi Wulang, and his 200% opening slash can go up to a terrifying 30+ damage, enough to just delete a mid-game unit in one hit. Finding the best âcat skill + equipmentâ combinations is a big part of the fun. Claws of Power is a card-based real-time strategy game: behind the cute art there are lots of little details. Every cat, every deck, every tiny piece of gear might become the key to a comeback. If youâd like to experience the joy of commanding an army of cats powered by dried fish, youâre very welcome to search âClaws of Power" on Steam and add it to your wishlist meow~ đž
