I’m working on a small cat lane strategy game called Claws of Power, and these GIFs are from a short video where I show the first six cats you get in Chapter 1. The starter trio is pretty simple but important: • Bacon Jack – super cheap melee, not strong on his own but great for early swarms. • A Qiang – fragile ranged pebble-thrower, hides behind others and does real damage. • Blue Fatty – early tank, hard to knock back and keeps your backline safe. Then you unlock three “upgraded” versions: • Xiao Fu – fork-wielding melee with a wide hitbox and knockback, very good at breaking formations. • Wu Ji – slingshot cat with extra damage and a little stun, kind of a CC / DPS hybrid. • Big Ju – chunky salted-fish bruiser who hits hard and can heal himself by eating the fish when low. I’m a solo dev working on a small cat lane strategy game called Claws of Power, and lately I’ve been focusing a lot on the out-of-match progression instead of just the battles. Right now there are a few main pieces: The base can be upgraded to increase its HP. A lot of players (including me) tend to ignore it at first and just go full offense, but some people like stacking base HP and playing more “hold and counter” style. Later I want to give the base its own talents, like blocking one big hit, reflecting damage, or even adding small turrets.

Unlocking and Utilizing the Full Range of Notes Rotaeno’s gameplay complexity grows significantly in higher difficulty charts where flick and overlapping notes appear. Flick notes demand quick directional swipes, adding an extra layer of skill. Additionally, catch notes can appear simultaneously with tap or slide notes, requiring precise coordination to manage multiple input types. Developing muscle memory for these combinations will greatly improve your performance.

I’m working on a little cat lane strategy game called Claws of Power, and recently I finished a new unit I’m pretty happy with: the samurai cat Akagoro. He costs 7 dried fish, so most of the time he’s just standing in the hand looking lazy with his straw hat on while you save up. The idea is that he’s one of those “okay, now it’s worth spending everything” kind of units. His first attack is the fun part: he pauses for a moment, then flash-dashes forward and does a quick iai-style slash. That opening hit usually closes the gap and deletes one target in one go. After that he settles into a more normal melee rhythm, but that first cut is meant to feel like a classic single clean samurai strike. One gif I recorded is just a simple 1v1 test, the other is Akagoro in an actual stage after you unlock him, so you can see how he behaves in a real wave.
