I’m making a small indie game called Claws of Power. A big part of the starting point for this game was those old lane-push browser games, especially Age of War. I always thought that kind of gameplay was weirdly addictive, and also had more room to be explored than most games ever did with it. So I ended up making my own version of that feeling — but with cats. At the core, it’s still a single-lane push game: you spend dried fish to summon units, they walk forward automatically, fight on the lane, and whoever destroys the enemy base first wins. But I’ve been trying to build more around that loop: different cat skills, items, equipment, timing, positioning, and more ways to actually make decisions instead of just spamming units. I still don’t know the perfect genre name for this kind of game. It’s a bit lane strategy, a bit tower defense, a bit RTS, and a bit chaotic auto-battle nonsense. Whatever the label is, this is basically my attempt to take that old Age of War style and push it in my own direction. I’m a solo dev working on a small cat lane strategy game called Claws of Power. You spend dried fish to summon different cats, line them up, and try to break the enemy base. These gifs are from a later vampire boss fight. The boss appears out of a swarm of bats, then walks forward with the wave, throwing out black energy orbs and lightning that can pretty much erase your frontline if your timing is bad. On my side it’s mainly the Gatling muscle cat plus Nuba (the blue tiger cat) trying to clean up the lane and slowly push toward him. The other gif is just a little interaction I really like: a tiny knight cat jumps onto a big tank cat and rides along, stabbing away while the big one eats all the damage in front.
