Check out Heaven Dust’s loving chibi homage to Resident Evil - Pocket Playfest

I’ve been playing Resident Evil games since the series really hit its stride with 1998’s Resident Evil 2, so when a game comes along that clearly loves and manages to capture what made that series special, it’s automatically on my radar. Based on my time with the demo version of Heaven Dust, it manages to do just that, with a mobile-friendly spin on survival horror that’s clearly deeply in debt to the first

Played this game for an hour not sure if this is for kids. Well definitely not because some of the words they use is really not for kids 😅 Definitely not for heavy gamers unless you want to get bored or tired of pressing controls 😂. This game is actually good but not really for heavy gamers. Love the concept but I wish they develope it for all gamers like normal RPG. But doing a great job on storyline.

Devil Slot Machine is a delightful gambling distraction, but it needs some polish

SHOULD I PLAY DEVIL SLOT MACHINE? If you happen to be really into pinball, slot machines, or tower defense games, you’ll probably want to take a look at Devil Slot Machine. I admittedly don’t play any of those genres often, but the premise of gambling my soul against a demonic entity was something that grabbed my attention. Although Devil Slot Machine could certainly use some more polish, the interesting game mechanics and retro pixel graphics were enough to make me think the full-release version has potential.

Refactor’s new ideas reinvigorate tower defense - Pocket Playfest

Tower defense has proven to be a surprisingly durable game format, but after getting swamped with them during their initial boom, I’ve needed a good gimmick to keep me interested for very long. Refactor is, on paper anyway, a standard tower defense game, but it adds enough new layers to make it feel like a wholly new kind of experience. ————————————— Welcome to TapTap’s Pocket Playfest - An Indie Celebration! Diablo meets turn-based tactics in this colorful co-op roguelike - Inkbound Quick First Impressions

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it, especially if you can get a few friends to join you. Inkbound delivers a robust and satisfying single-player experience, but this roguelike RPG is even more exciting when you can combine your abilities with the skills of other players. Every class feels distinct, and the turn-based combat system has tons of strategic depth. While the game is debuting as an early access title, it’s extremely polished, and it already feels like it’s a complete game.

Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons reminds me of why I love the classic arcade experience

Growing up, I did most of my gaming at home, but I still have some amazing memories of arcade games. There was something truly special about putting a coin in a machine and starting a new adventure, knowing that I could only go as far as my quarters could take me. Nearly all of my arcade sessions ended in defeat, but whenever I made it a little further my last playthrough, it felt like an accomplishment.

The long, strange saga of Six Days in Fallujah’s arrival on Steam

It’s been fourteen years since the announcement of Six Days in Fallujah, a gritty tactical shooter set during one of the most violent clashes of the war in Iraq. In that time, the game has faced two separate rounds of controversy—over very different reasons—and been jostled between publishers. So what is Six Days in Fallujah, and why has it proven so contentious, years before it was ready to launch?

This online RPG looks awesome, but it's got some major problems - Wayfinder Quick First Impressions

SHOULD I PLAY WAYFINDER? Avoid it for the time being. Wayfinder’s early access release has been a complete disaster, and beyond the botched launch are deeper issues that need to be addressed. On the night of Wayfinder’s release, the game was completely unplayable for me. Not only could I not log in, but absolutely nothing happened when I clicked the login button. All I could do was stare at the menu and hope the game would be playable eventually.

Play a creepy retro take on Resident Evil on your phone with I See You - Pocket Playfest

With the success of games like 1-bit Survivor, there’s been a recent trend of low-res Resident Evil-style survival horror games, and for good reason! I See You is the latest game following this path, and it placed me in the unique perspective of a blind man searching for his girlfriend while being stalked by an evil entity. The successful incorporation of puzzles, item collection, narrative, and even music blended together perfectly to create something that really kept me on the edge of my seat.

This is how you remake a piece of gaming history - System Shock review

It’s probably impossible to overstate the importance of the original System Shock, which debuted on PC way back in 1994. While Doom had reshaped expectations of what a 3D game world could be a year earlier, System Shock’s dark, creepy space station hallways charted a course that we’re still following today. What we now know as the survival horror and immersive sim genres simply wouldn’t exist as we know them without this weird, niche game from Looking Glass Studios.

This steampunk adventure shows that Myst’s devs haven’t lost their touch - Firmament Quick Review

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it if you’re up for a slow-paced stroll and some challenging puzzles. Firmament is an all-new game from Cyan Worlds, the developer of the legendary Myst and Riven games, and while Firmament is a fully 3D world, its continuity with those earlier adventures is impossible to miss. Firmament’s puzzles all involve manipulating complex, beautiful machinery rather than shuffling through inventory items. I enjoyed piecing together its story of interdimensional caretakers of reality from the few clues they left behind almost as much as I loved the feeling of finally figuring out how to get one of their huge machines working the way I wanted.

Pirate Pikmin meets battle royale

I don’t want to speak too soon, but Floodrush may have found the formula to make battle royale feel truly at home on mobile devices. I’ve enjoyed my time with this strangely addictive little battler, which sees me rushing around a rapidly sinking island to gather resources, build an army of rubbery sea creatures, and run everyone else out of town. The key is that my army pretty much handles itself: shotgun-toting squid fire their blunderbusses at approaching threats, while my big tanky turtles form walls to protect me from other players’ attacks. All I’ve got to do is let them know when I want them to focus on something specific, while I dash around opening chests and picking up blobs that allow me to call down reinforcements.

Flashy demon slaying on the go - Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat Quick First Impressions

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it if you’re interested in Devil May Cry or are looking for a mobile game with awesome graphics. Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat doesn’t feel like a watered-down version of the classic Capcom franchise; it’s a solid new entry to the series. There’s tons of fan service here, but the game isn’t bogged down with lore, so if you’ve never played a Devil May Cry game before, this is a good place to start. I’m a longtime fan of the franchise, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well this title measured up to the mainline games.

Serve up monstrous meals in this cooking-themed dungeon crawler - Monster Menu Quick Review

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it if you’re a fan of dungeon crawlers. Monster Menu revolves around a group of adventurers that find themselves trapped in a mysterious dungeon. After a while, they start to get hungry, and they’re ravenous enough to put anything—even monster meat— on the menu. This isn’t the first culinary roguelike I’ve played, but its cooking mechanics are surprisingly deep, and the mix of survival gameplay and dungeon-crawling is satisfying. It’s heavy on grinding, and it’s unlikely to win over players that aren’t fans of the genre, but I still found it to be pretty fun.

The Hype and Reality: Farlight 84 Review and Impressions

Farlight 84 Mobile Review •==>I recently had the opportunity to dive into the world of Farlight 84, and I must say, it delivers an exceptional shooting experience. From the moment I jumped into my first match, I was immersed in a world of intense firefights and adrenaline-pumping action. •One of the standout features of Farlight 84 is its polished and responsive gameplay mechanics. The gunplay feels satisfying, with a great sense of impact and precision. The variety of weapons available is impressive, each with their own distinct characteristics, allowing for diverse playstyles and strategic choices. Whether I was sniping enemies from afar or engaging in close-quarters combat, the gunplay always felt tight and rewarding.

The AFK Arena sequel is a gorgeous gacha idle game filled with adorable hamsters

AFK Arena is one of the most addictive idle games I've ever played, but AFK Journey improves upon it in every way. Everything about it is amazing, from its stunning character designs to its strategic battles to its immersive world. While it's techniquely an idle battler, it's a game that's impossible to tear yourself away from. There's always something to do in AFK Journey, and if you feel like playing it for hours, you can absolutely do so. That flexibility might be my favorite thing about the game. The gameplay had me hooked right from the start, so I got in a good long play session before I took my first break. When I came back, there were tons of idle rewards waiting for me. I love that I can switch between playing it non-stop and treating it as a standard idle game.
