Civilization’s grand strategy meets QAnon-style conspiracy theories in this wonderful, weird game

SHOULD I PLAY THE FABULOUS FEAR MACHINE? Definitely give this game a shot if you enjoy pulp comics and grand strategy games. The Fabulous Fear Machine was created by Fictorama Studios, the same developers behind the equally unhinged and enjoyable Do Not Feed the Monkeys games. Like that game, The Fabulous Fear Machine is all about being in charge of a force with the power to shape the world. This time, though, you control that force on a much broader scale, slowly spreading your dark influence across a series of regional maps. It’s a brilliant twist that blends together

The next The Last of Us game has been canceled

With the popularity of this year's HBO TV adaptation, The Last of Us is arguably as popular as its ever been. But even popularity can't saved a doomed project. In a blog post today, developer Naughty Dog revealed that the long-in-development The Last of Us Online has been canceled. This project had been in development for several years now and was seen by many as a replacement for the "Factions" multiplayer mode from the original

For me, it was either Alien: Isolation or Resident Evil: Biohazard. I chose these games because I played them when I was younger. I was able to finish the game with the help of walkthroughs a couple of times. Sometimes the puzzles were a bit too hard for me. They were some of the horror gems in my younger years. There is an alien game called Alien: Blackout, but it’s a payed game. And as far as I know it, there isn’t any games about resident evil for mobile. I still highly recommend these games for anyone who likes horror, wants to get into horror, or someone wanting a good spook. Have a spooky day. 👻

Misguided | Android

This is the mobile remake of the iconic psychological horror game developed by Enigmatic Studio. This remastered version delivers a haunting narrative experience, improving graphics, audio, and fluidity compared to the original. It's essentially a first-person horror game with strong exploratory elements and environmental puzzles, designed to immerse us in a constantly tense and disturbing atmosphere. Everything revolves around a nameless protagonist who wakes up in a seemingly abandoned building, with no memory of how he got there. From the first minutes, a sense of disorientation sets in: silent corridors, flickering lights, and rooms that seem to change layout. Through scattered documents, audio recordings, and sudden visions, we discover that the place is linked to psychological experiments and traumatic events from the past. The protagonist seems to have a direct connection to what happened: fragments of memory gradually emerge, revealing a story of guilt, mental manipulation, and distorted reality. The narrative plays heavily on ambiguity: is what we see real or a figment of the protagonist's mind?  Sudden appearances and environmental changes help maintain the tension until the finale, where the pieces of the puzzle come together in a revelation as disturbing as it is surprising. The gameplay is structured primarily in first-person, with free exploration of the environments, collection of key objects, solving environmental puzzles, and scripted events and sudden moments of tension. There is no combat here. The setting is one of the game's strengths: claustrophobic corridors, dark rooms, realistic ambient sounds, and a key audio component. The remastered version improves textures, dynamic lighting, and stability on modern devices, making the experience more immersive. I recommend it to lovers of narrative psychological horror. It doesn't focus on excessive jump scares, but on a constant atmosphere of unease and mystery. The remaster enhances an already interesting project, making it more accessible and fluid on mobile. A short but intense experience, capable of leaving a lasting impression, especially for those who love ambiguous and profound stories.

SKALD (ATBP) - A FANTASTIC TAKE ON HORROR CRPG

Nothing beats sitting down to enjoy a classic CRPG narrative story and tactical gameplay, which Skald The Black Priory offers in abundance, beginning with an eldritch nightmare plot that ranks among the most best I've ever played. While the gameplay was fascinating and enjoyable, I couldn't help but wonder if there could have been more physical content once you crossed the Castle's boundary and into the more open and abandoned world as you made your way north.

SKALD: Against the Black Priory
SKALD: Against the Black Priory
The protagonist is a composite hungry monster similar to an octopus, which breaking the glass of its containment capsule placed inside a complex research facility, will soon pour into everywhere because in order to live and increase its volume it needs to devour as much human prey as possible by extending its lethal tentacles; it is the result of a failed experiment in a top secret laboratory in the bowels of the earth. The paths and passages will not all be available immediately because the scientists will be shielded by dividing walls that will protect them from our inexorable fury. Furthermore, it emits a terrifying cry, a sort of threatening roar that expands beyond the ravines, hatches and bulkheads, both to channel the humans towards the direction it desires, and to exploit an ability that works like a kind of sonar capable of letting us locate what will be useful for our cause to get out of the impasse.  In some stages it will also be equipped with telekinesis, taking possession of only some of the scientists who will only be able to go up and down the stairs that divide the floors of the building or interact with scattered elements of the scenario, now to solve mini puzzles, now to examine some organic compounds scattered around the areas. The more it grows in volume, the more abilities it acquires such as throwing objects at prey, so watch out for armed guards, especially those with flamethrowers, lethal for our creature. They will try in every way to shrink you and make you helpless.

Uncover creepy radio signals in this sci-fi horror game - Oxenfree II: Lost Signals Quick Review

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it if you’re a fan of sci-fi, analog horror, or just like narrative-focused games. Oxenfree II: Lost Signals is a direct sequel to the original Oxenfree, but it’s surprisingly friendly to newcomers. Set five years after the first game, Lost Signals follows two brand-new characters: small town handyman Jacob and stoic screw-up Riley. There are moments that will hit harder if you’ve played the original, but it’s not overly reliant on old material, and it should make for a satisfying experience even if you treat it as a standalone game.

Five ways to save the Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 movie from sucking

It’s no secret that Five Nights at Freddy’s was one of the worst films I had the displeasure of viewing in 2023. It was boring and humorless, and worst of all, there weren’t nearly enough murderous animatronics causing mayhem. However, I’ve always said knowing your audience when it comes to adapted properties is essential. Fans of the series showed up to make it one of the most successful movies of last year.

FNAF INTO THE PIT - THE FIRST AND LAST TIME I'LL PLAY IT!

I've never found cheap jump scare games like Amnesia, FNAF, and many other titles to be particularly interesting, owing in part to my preference for atmospheric horror with good storytelling to being bombarded with loud noises every few seconds. This is the first time and it will be the last time that I will sit down to play a FNAF game. I do own a copy of prior games; however, I consider it more of a collection that just sits in my library than a game that I would like to play through because I know it's nothing special. There is not much here. This is simply a video game recreation of one of the books, with some eater eggs thrown in.

PAPER LILY CHAPTER 1 - YOU HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!

Game: Paper Lily: Chapter 1 Platform: PC Genre: Free to Play, Psychological Horror, Adventure, 2D Overview I believe many are hesitant to try new games, particularly those that look and feel like games they have grown to dislike, such as most RPGmaker games, which are better described as games with little attention to detail or charm, using the same assets and boring generic characters regardless of the story behind them most of the time. I've seen several people say that this is an

When I was just a young boy, my father would drive me deep into the woods and leave me there overnight with nothing but a gun and a can of beans. The rules were simple, if I survived until the morning I could go to Disneyland with him the next day, but if I ended up getting eaten by the wildlife or the wandering fentanyl addicts then I would forever be considered a loser. This video game helps to capture that feeling from my youth, the raw fear of it is enough to keep your palms sweaty and your heart racing. Sure, in the game you're shooting necrotic demons from some other dimension, but you can't get much closer to a fentanyl ravager than that.

An alien invasion that falls flat faster than M. Night Shyamalan - Greyhill Incident Quick Review

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Skip this one for sure. Greyhill Incident is a first-person horror story that tells a tale of alien invasion in a rural farm community. The setting and many of the set pieces seem heavily inspired Signs, M. Night Shyamalan’s 2002 alien horror flick. But like many of Shyamalan’s worst films, Greyhill Incident suffers from wooden dialogue, questionable acting, and a frustrating, illogical plot that never really seems to go anywhere, among other problems.

Weird horror game Garten of Banban 3 has become a YouTube sensation - but is it any good?

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Wow, this is way harder to answer than it usually is. I would say skip Garten of Banban 3 if you’re looking for what might traditionally be called a “good” game. But on the other hand, if you’re looking for something almost inexplicably weird—like just so strange that you almost can’t help but enjoy it—then it might just be worth playing. As with previous entries in the series,

What if the X-Files was a computer game from the '80s? Get ready for Bahnsen Knights

When it comes to horror something about the '80s just hits harder. The look, the music, the feel—the 1980s is just the perfect era for creepy stuff. Developer LCB Game Studio seems to have recognized that, which is why its next game, Bahnsen Knights, is both set in 1986 and looks like a PC game that could have been released right around that same time. Bahnsen Knights is actually the latest in a series of games from LCB Game Studio and publisher Chorus Worldwide Games known as Pixel Pulps. These adventure games use stylized retro graphics and music to tell unsettling horror stories. In the case of Bahnsen Knights, that story revolves around Boulder, an undercover agent who has been sent to

This horror game set on Mars is giving me Alien vibes in the best way

I hadn't heard much about upcoming horror game Fort Solis until I saw the above trailer, but watch this thing and try not to get hyped. The game takes place on a mysteriously deserted mining base on Mars, and players take on the role of an astronaut named Jake sent to investigate what happened. The trailer leaves it unclear what the actual threat lurking within Fort Solis is, which is great in my opinion. Let me be surprised when I play the actual game! But whatever it is, I'm getting

Check out Heaven Dust’s loving chibi homage to Resident Evil - Pocket Playfest

I’ve been playing Resident Evil games since the series really hit its stride with 1998’s Resident Evil 2, so when a game comes along that clearly loves and manages to capture what made that series special, it’s automatically on my radar. Based on my time with the demo version of Heaven Dust, it manages to do just that, with a mobile-friendly spin on survival horror that’s clearly deeply in debt to the first

MONONEKO - A GOREY CUPHEAD STYLED RHYTHM GAME

A game about getting revenge on Yokai and cat murderers on numerous fronts. How much more challenging may this be in the future? That is the primary question here, given that it is barely functioning at times, crashing and failing to award you with gold coins which helps you improve your effects on each run. MonoNeko is both bright and full of dark depictions, with the premise of reviving killed cats and using them as a little army to defeat those who have done this evil act. Putting that notion aside, it was really rather enjoyable, even if it did seem like an very early access game with a lot of room for growth if they decide to actually work on it.

3 things holding down Redfall (and 3 reasons I might like it anyway)

The biggest console and PC release of this week appears to be something of a mess. Redfall is a co-op-centric looter-shooter that just launched for PC and Xbox Series S and X. It’s the latest game from Microsoft- and Bethesda-owned Arkane Studios, a developer that has created some truly great games such as Prey and the Dishonored series, so it’s understandable why some gamers were hyped for this one.
