This tactical RPG was announced by Square Enix in April 2022; it is part of the Front Mission saga, the first title having been released in 1995 for the Super Nintendo. It features giant mecha robots called "Wanzers", short for the German Wanderung Panzer, meaning "walking tanks". Ninety-one years before the New Era, an asteroid fell on our planet, forming the island of Milkhama. Many years later, the Obsidians discovered, after the impact with our planet, the existence of a matter called "Arashi", from which a new intelligent alloy, "Arashium", was born. When fused with mecha (known as ST), it improved their performance. It's a puzzle game, with geometric shapes that create surrealist landscapes à la De Chirico, but what's striking are the predominant colors: amber and Pompeian red, gray, white, and black, contrasted by the red, burgundy, and pink flags and banners, symbolizing violence and strength. Into all this chaos of incommunicability comes an anonymous traveler, a hooded figure, who, according to ancient legend, will unite the peoples of the Tower of Babel, who cannot communicate with each other due to linguistic differences.  He is a "linguist and lexicographer," where "linguistics" is the study of languages, their history, and their structures, while "lexicography" is the technique of collecting and possibly illustrating the words of a language or dialect. He's more action-oriented, while the Hero, who offers more puzzle- and platform-based gameplay, must use objects found in the environment to open paths and avoid the menacing enemies that lurk. The narrative is actually intricate, as it's set in two worlds, intertwining a story of suffering, sacrifice, and a family caught in the middle of it all. Much of this is told through subtle visuals, as you navigate each character's struggles. There are eighty collectibles scattered throughout the game that present an additional challenge, each requiring you to venture off the beaten path and be a little more cunning to discover them.  It's fun, and I found myself searching for every shiny object in every location I explored, which added a bit more replayability to the adventure! As we explore the landscape with wit, we'll have to blast enemies to pieces and trigger deadly traps to escape the evil that awaits us! One of my favorite aspects is its impressive graphics, with pixel-art characters and environments that pop everywhere. It gives the impression that there's always something happening in the surrounding environment, while the subtle, disturbing details contribute to a dark atmosphere. It's aesthetically pleasing and explores the dark and gloomy world within each of us. It was a pleasure to discover it by chance on the Play Store... from start to finish, given the complacently hermetic narrative—which unfolds along three main, distinct yet somehow connected threads: a symbolic reflection on the meaning of pain and hope.

I finally finished Green Glass from the Chinese studio Netease.  I crossed landscapes in a medieval epic fantasy world with a very fascinating Asian flavor in the guise of a warrior on a journey in which I had to accompany a girl to be protected from a series of dangers and enemies.  Along the way, I faced tons of obstacles, including powerful enemies who tried to end my adventure prematurely.  In some scenarios I rode a horse, while other times I even went down to prepare healing tea.
