Become the drift king in the cyberpunk underworld of Neo Tokyo
📖 Storyline: In the fall of 1969, the global car market was dominated by manufacturers from Germany, Italy, Great Britain and the United States. This situation changed dramatically, especially in America, with the appearance of the Nissan Datsun 240Z from the Japanese mainland! Not only was it fast, but it was designed from the start to be easily repairable with parts from other models, in order to keep costs as low as possible! Japan managed to establish itself in a saturated market with the term tuning, which was a futuristic sports car with heavily modified bodies and covered in brightly colored decals, so much so that in Neo Tokyo we will claim the territory of rival gangs to become the drift king in the cyberpunk underworld!
🎮 Gameplay: The network of highways in the Greater Tokyo Area, here called Neo Tokyo Cyberpunk, is famous for the very long straight stretch called, precisely, Wangan, on whose asphalt the various car races are usually decided - strictly clandestine - that also liven up the entire Japanese anime series in twenty-six episodes. It is not "pay to win", so we can get everything for free: The best gears? Maximum level? No amount of money can buy them.. here only our commitment counts! Whether we know how to drift or not, you will have fun sliding sideways in the corners to compete for the highest score. We can also challenge our friends in multiplayer and compete to get the highest scores in the leaderboard.
🕹️ Controls: It is inspired by the classic Japanese retro game: Wangan Midnight Z with the only difference that here it is entirely touchscreen! Parts are earned through rewards, loot boxes or supplies with a timer but be careful when you conquer the territory you will have to defend it as a condition to challenge the leaders of the dominant gangs of the district.
🎨 Graphics: The anime-style graphics are not particularly well-finished, indeed the dialogues are mostly short, nevertheless this does not weigh on the enjoyment of the whole at all, indeed the attention to detail in cell-shading is fascinating during the gameplay and boasts moments of greater emphasis especially during the drifts counting on a "computer graphics" design videogame style, yet it totally captivated me proof of the fact that substance counts more than form!
🇮🇹 Personal Consideration: In reality tuning concerns the engines and other important mechanical parts of the car including the increase in performance on the road such as those seen in the film saga The Fast & The Furious. The combination of "engines" and "road performance" gave birth to the manga series Wangan Midnight, then translated into a console version first on PS2 then on PSP (but it didn't have much success because of the dialogues in Japanese) with nerve-wracking challenges. In the mobile version, all the stylized cyberpunk characters will do their best to develop a competitor worthy of the Nissan 250Z, which can give it a hard time in the crazy highway races and with the addition of night drifting at 300 km/h. We will be forced to set lowered setups, weight reductions, reinforced frames, variations in the torque values, exhaust manifolds redone from scratch, increased engine capacity, etc. and numerous other changes, always described in detail in their manga text dialogues. It is not a title aimed at everyone, this should be made clear right away! It is suitable almost exclusively for fans, like me, of cars and racing, preferably illegal. There aren't many mobile titles focused on the world of car racing, but among the most famous I can undoubtedly include: Ace Racer, Need For Speed Mobile Edition and CarX Street! Also on the positive side are the soundtracks, very engaging and never "invasive", which clearly contribute to creating a certain atmosphere in key moments.
