From Hollow Knight to Blasphemous 2 to, well, most of the Metroid and Castlevania games of the last twenty years, we've played and adored Metroidvanias for a long time now. But for as many of these adventure/exploration-heavy platformers as we've played, we've never seen one that looks quite like Worldless. This upcoming Metroidvania from Spanish game developer Noname Studios uses stark colors and an abstract art style to really stand out from the pack. That's not the only way that it's different, though. In addition to the usual exploration and ability unlocking of this style of game, it uses a clever combat system that mixes turn-based and real-time action.

A event that makes passive and neutral creatures hostile and won't end unless you deactivate it via a aporkcalypse calendar which is found in a ruin! Ruins are like passageways to other islands like the palace island, pugalisk island, 1st & 2nd ancient herald islands, but there are some that lead to nowhere and just have loot like gems, ruins gear, telelocator staff, and artifacts! Artifacts are pretty useless but you can trade them to a certain pig villager to get a ten piece oinc which is the currency in Hamlet used to buy goods! But there are two other artifacts that can only be traded to queen malfalfa on the palace island and if you do trade her them she'll give you a key which unlock 1 of 3 items! The first one is a hammer that allows you to break pig structures to get resources from them, the second one is silly string that can be crafted into a skyworthy that when on console, PC, or switch allows you to go to the other dlcs or the base game! And the last one is a key that allows you to make your own pig town! Also there are some really good bosses like pugalisk, ancient herald, queen womant, and iron hulk! And some really fun characters like wheeler who has a gun and can dodge attacks! Wormwood who is a plant and can't be healed by food! And Wilba who needs to be unlocked by defeating queen womant and then giving the womant's crown to queen malfalfa! Wilba is a pig and the princess of the pigs so she can freely take items without the pig guards getting mad, she can hammer pig structures freely, she also gets gifts from all pigs across the constant! But one of the biggest things is that when it's the aporkcalypse, full moon, or she eats two monster foods she becomes were-wilba who has increased health, speed, attack speed, and can chop, hack vines, mine, and do a good amount of damage with her bare hands but she has a increased hunger drain, can't equip items, and she's viewed as a monster by pigs!

Assassin’s Creed Mirage, however, almost looks like a return to the roots of the series, featuring HOODED Assassins again and an exotic locale reminiscent of the first quadrilogy. However, despite everything on surface level looking like a return to form, that actually isn’t the case. So, if you’re looking for a historically-appreciative return to Assassin’s Creed’s roots, Mirage is not exactly what you’re looking for. Still, it does pay homage to the earlier games and has a significantly shorter playtime of 20 hours compared to the newer titles. If you didn’t like the bloat of the new games and wanted a tighter, more focused experience, Mirage might be worth looking into.

Publisher: Fellow Traveller Releases: September 28th, 2022 Price: Free To Play MY HERO ULTRA RUMBLE is a new free-to-play addition to the genre of battle royales that attempts to compete with other existing games that have dominated the genre for the last 5 years most notably Fortnite. Choose your favorite hero or villain, complete with quirks and characteristics, and compete for the top spot! It's difficult to understand why this game was considered. While it appears alright at first glance, once you get your hands on it and physically start playing it just feels like another jaded attempt at something that didn't need to be a thing, but rather a way for some small studio to attempt to cash in on something popular far down the line.

SHOULD I PLAY BLAZBLUE ENTROPY EFFECT? Play it if you love top-notch anime visuals or are a fan of roguelite platformers like Dead Cells, Risk of Rain, or Rogue Legacy. It’s an odd mix, but it works: ARC System Works’ fantastic animation style paired up with a punchy, evolving combat system and a cyberpunk world full of mysteries to uncover makes for a thrilling experience, even if it can be a bit confusing at first.
