A long time ago (1995) in a galaxy far, far away (the basement den where I convinced my mom to set up her Windows 95 PC), I spent an awful lot of time playing Star Wars: Dark Forces. As a certified dork who loved the Star Wars movies and equally loved the fast-paced shooting action of Doom, a game that blended the two was like a dream come true. Of course, games have changed a lot in the nearly thirty years since Dark Forces first came out, which is why I'm so excited to see it getting a new and improved release. We're huge fans of the twisty storytelling and gruesome deaths of the Danganronpa series of visual novels, but there hasn't been a new mainline entry since 2017's Danganronpa V3. With that in mind, we're starting to look elsewhere to get our fix of kidnapped innocents placed into a dastardly game of death. PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? Play it if you’re a fan of building and management games. Park Beyond isn’t as deep as theme park builders like Planet Coaster, but it’s a fun, easy-to-play game with a great selection of maps and building tools. While I was able to build some pretty complex roller coasters from scratch, Park Beyond also has plenty of prefabricated rides and coasters, making it perfect for short or more casual play sessions. I did run into some issues during my playtime, but most of those problems were pretty minor, and I’m hoping they’ll be addressed through patches in the not-too-distant future.
