Character sprites look wonderful and full of personality, and the game’s voice acting and direction are decent. Still, this is only the demo. Remember Stargate? It's back—in real-time tactical game form!

For a certain type of dorky kid growing up in the '90s, the Stargate franchise was a formative gateway into goofy-yet-fun, low-budget sci-fi adventures. Beginning with the 1994 movie Stargate, the series quickly expanded out into multiple TV shows, comics, cartoons, books, and yes, video games. And while there hasn't been much going on with this IP in recent years, that's finally changing this week, as an all-new Stargate game has just launched...and you can even play the first mission for free.

The latest Dragon Quest game is all about capturing adorable creatures...and then combining them!

Dragon Quest Monsters has been a spin-off branch of Enix's beloved Dragon Quest series since the first one launched for the Game Boy Color way back in 1998. These games take the recognizable Dragon Quest art style and implement Pokémon-style creature collecting and battling. It's two great tastes that go great together! Despite being a no-brainer gameplay formula, though, it's been a long time since we've had a Dragon Quest Monsters game make its way to North America. The last one was Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2, which launched for the Nintendo 3DS over a decade ago. That streak is finally ready to be broken, though, with

All done with Super Mario RPG? Here's the colorful action-RPG you'll want to play next

Very few RPGs manage to capture the sense of whimsy and adventure of Super Mario RPG, so when one comes along, we take notice. That's why we couldn't look away when we saw the absolutely adorable and fun-looking Born of Bread. This RPG puts players into the shoes of Loaf, a "flour golem" who must journey the world and make new friends while solving a perplexing mystery. Like Super Mario RPG, Born of Bread's combat system is technically turn-based, but different moves allow players to do extra damage by completing timing-based challenges. So it requires a little more attention than the average turn-based RPG, where you might just tap "attack" over and over.

"Clash of Irons"- Beginner's Guide - Tank Acquisition

"Clash of Irons" is a tank-centric game where tanks take the spotlight. In the early stages, the game features iconic tanks from World War II, such as the Crusader, Tiger, King Tiger, and Panther, well-known to military enthusiasts. As the game progresses, it introduces some modern tanks in reality like the Merkava, M1A1, and creatively designed fantasy tanks. Acquiring tanks in the early stages primarily involves the following methods:

A new RPG from the creators of This War of Mine takes to the magical streets of 20th century Poland

Role-playing video games have taken us on adventures to all sorts of strange locales: grand fantasy landscapes, epic sci-fi universes, sweeping vistas occupied by gods, and otherworldly realms haunted by the dead. However, we've never been swept off to a setting quite like that of The Thaumaturge. That's because this RPG takes place in Warsaw, Poland in the early 20th century—albeit a slightly fantastical version of Warsaw.

8 TV shows that deserve a video game adaptation

With the success of movies and television like The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Five Nights at Freddy’s, and The Last of Us, video games are reigning supreme on both the silver and small screens. And with plenty more adaptations, such as Minecraft, in the works, it seems like we’re right at the beginning of what is becoming Hollywood’s newest cash cow. I’ve shared my thoughts on five games I would love to be turned into films. But with

This odd, clunky sci-fi puzzle game is breaking my brain - The Banished Vault Quick Review

PLAY IT OR SKIP IT? This is a tough call. Some players will be immediately put off by The Banished Vault’s refusal to do many of the computational functions we normally take for granted in games, like clearly indicating how much fuel and resources you’ll need for a journey. Others, however, will be thrilled by its commitment to a somber, board game look and feel. The Banished Vault reminds me of Frank Herbert’s

Don't miss your chance to check out Square Enix's new Splatoon-like party shooter free this weekend

At Summer Game Fest 2023, Square Enix surprised us by announcing a colorful four-versus-four shooter called Foamstars. The game is all about spraying down enemies and the arena with blue, pink, purple, and green bubbles. It drew immediate comparisons to Nintendo's Splatoon series, but it's much more than just a clone. In fact, it was one of our favorite games that we got to try out at Summer Game Fest!

One of gaming's first-ever beat 'em ups is back with a remaster of a remake

Only '90s kids will remember this! At least that might have been the case, but thankfully everyone can now return to River City. River City Ransom was released on the NES way back in 1989 and was one of the earliest examples of a beat 'em up on home gaming consoles. Despite being so early, though, it was also much more ambitious than you might expect, with RPG elements, a semi-open world, and loot to collect.

The real next generation of rally racing is finally almost here

More than maybe any other single development studio, Codemasters knows rally racing.  They've been pumping out the Colin McRae Rally and Dirt games for many years, and now they're taking over the EA Sports WRC series. This marks a big milestone for both Codemasters—which was purchased by EA in 2020—and the WRC franchise in video game form, which has previously been worked on by French developer Kylotonn to mixed results.

Slay The Spire Developers show it's just THAT EASY!

There's no better way to sum up the gaming business lately than a collective bag of shite being thrown at Unity for trying so hard to sink their greedy mitts into everyone's pockets and causing a lot of panic towards indie developers and big brand names. It's excellent to see studios banding together in a boycott of the Unity platform, which is where this game is available. Dancing Duelists is a game that was created in three weeks after a fast changeover to a new gaming engine. Consider what could be accomplished in two months.
