River City Ransom was released on the NES way back in 1989 and was one of the earliest examples of a beat 'em up on home gaming consoles. Despite being so early, though, it was also much more ambitious than you might expect, with RPG elements, a semi-open world, and loot to collect.

Fate/Samurai Remnant is out now and I loved my time in this game. I enjoyed the overall experience and the quality of the character designs for the in game models and the combat was just super flashy and exciting. I highly recommend this game if you're a lover of action RPG anime games and the Fate/Type Moon series in general.

Blazblue is recognized as one of the better fighting anime games, comparable to Guilty Gear. However, in this case, it takes on the role of a Metroidvania with a divided community and a lot of misdirection when it comes to it's trailers. It's actually not that bad. It's a refreshing and daring attempt to attract a wider audience, and I applaud this approach, as it piques my interest in checking out the rest of the series as a whole with its exciting gameplay and mystery.

Hey hey! While I don't usually dabble in Bullet Heavens, I'd recently been directed towards Joychasing Games, Return To Abyss. Now, while I've already done a quick review of this game, I have (by this point) nearly doubled my initial playtime. Admittedly, the title of this article isn't inaccurate, as I was able to make a healthy degree of progress even as I piled my way through a small pile of peanut butter sandwiches.
