Astra: Knights of Veda is a gacha side-scrolling beat ‘em up that features a rich story and world with some really gorgeous accompanying visuals. Character sprites look wonderful and full of personality, and the game’s voice acting and direction are decent. Still, this is only the demo. SHOULD I PLAY HELSKATE? Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater fans should definitely give this a look. That said, you might want to wait until it’s had a few updates. Helskate is a hack-and-slash roguelike that also happens to be a skateboarding game, and it just hit early access. It’s a ton of fun to shift between monster slaying and skateboarding tricks, but I ran into several issues during my playtime. If you pick it up now, you’ll probably have a good time, but I suspect it’ll be much better once it’s had more time in the oven.

Capcom released a new update for Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition on October 24, 2023. Very few RPGs manage to capture the sense of whimsy and adventure of Super Mario RPG, so when one comes along, we take notice. That's why we couldn't look away when we saw the absolutely adorable and fun-looking Born of Bread. This RPG puts players into the shoes of Loaf, a "flour golem" who must journey the world and make new friends while solving a perplexing mystery. Like Super Mario RPG, Born of Bread's combat system is technically turn-based, but different moves allow players to do extra damage by completing timing-based challenges. So it requires a little more attention than the average turn-based RPG, where you might just tap "attack" over and over.

Finally making the jump to next-gen systems, Forza returns as the premiere car racing sim exclusive for the PC and Xbox Series consoles. Motorsport focuses heavily on the racing-sim aspect of the franchise, carrying with it its fair share of real-life race tracks and events that fans of racing will recognize. Forza Motorsport is a great entry point to new players of the franchise, as its many customization and accessibility options allows players to alter and amend the driving suite to suit their needs.
