Astra: Knights of Veda is a gacha side-scrolling beat ‘em up that features a rich story and world with some really gorgeous accompanying visuals. The story of Astra is incredibly illustrated and decently acted. With the demo being fully voice-acted, it kept me engaged most of the time. It also doesn’t shy away from pretty gnarly stuff which I as a story enthusiast appreciated. Astra operates like a typical 2D side-scrolling beat ‘em up, in a way similar to ASTLIBRA Revision released back in 2022, with a basic attack, dodge, special, and ultimate. You need to use these moves in conjunction with each other to successfully clear each zone. You can also switch your characters on the fly (thanks to a big story reason) to spice things up.

It is a new incarnation of the Konami action shooter starring Bill & Lane 📖 Storyline: First released in 1987, Bill and Lance are back with a bunch of new characters in Contra: Return.  I didn't play any of the early Contra games (I'm young!) but I remember playing my first Contra game on the Game Boy.  It was one of the most challenging platform shooters at the time. 🎮 Gameplay: It retains the action gameplay of the side-scrolling shooter, along with duo mode and additional new features.  Furthermore, by defeating the bossfires we will relive small reminiscences of the arcade glories!  The mobile version adds a number of new playable characters with different special abilities and powerful weapons.

News Tower is the full sim package, requiring equal parts time management, resource management, building layout, and creative input into what stories you assign your reporters to chase down each week. Running your own news empire isn’t easy, but News Tower makes it awfully fun.

This is one of the best mobile games I've played. I've tested what devices can handle this, and to my surprise most low end devices can actually handle this game. Though you might get kicked out of a match once in awhile. On low end devices it runs at a smooth 20-30 fps, which is pretty decent for low end devices. It can stutter a bit, but it's definitely playable. This is a short and sweet one, 5 out of 5 stars, highly recommended, my very honest and true opinion.

Sonic Superstars (Reviewed) Developer: SEGA Publisher: SEGA Released: Oct 17th, 2023 Price: $60 USD SEGA is back with another installment in the Sonic franchise. This time around with Sonic Superstars, a retro-charged return to the classics, but like with most entries into their series, not all is well. The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog knocked this game out of the park and that was an April Fools joke that actually was amazing.

It is not an emulator of "Amazing Spiderman PSX", from which all his adventures began, but a real #mobilegames porting made thanks to the optimization for android it's all entirely touchscreen it has no frame loss rates even in the most frenetic action scenes.  Furthermore, the title has been kept completely intact, so the most nostalgic will be able to appreciate its original menus, its not too precise controls and its unforgettable soundtrack!

SHOULD I PLAY BLAZBLUE ENTROPY EFFECT? Play it if you love top-notch anime visuals or are a fan of roguelite platformers like Dead Cells, Risk of Rain, or Rogue Legacy. It’s an odd mix, but it works: ARC System Works’ fantastic animation style paired up with a punchy, evolving combat system and a cyberpunk world full of mysteries to uncover makes for a thrilling experience, even if it can be a bit confusing at first.

Games based movies don't have a great track record. Games based on beloved '80s action films? Even sketchier. But against all odds, RoboCop: Rogue City seems like it might actually be great. It helps that Polish developer Teyon is also known for its work on 2019's Terminator: Resistance, which carries a "Very Positive" rating on Steam. I am aware that I face criticism for this stance, but it is vital to recognize that we all think differently and prefer different things. That is, while I dislike the game's progression and randomization, I absolutely love the visuals and vibe it has, but the fact that it has the same 5-7 endings no matter what you do and requires you to go through 100+ iterations of random sequences to get the ones that you want, I find it difficult to recommend because I believe the player has less control over their overall actions outside of inputting commands to advance the game forward through them.
