Hi, I'm the dev of The Way Home
Hi, I'm Myeongjin, the Dev of 'The Way Home'. I was recently invited to TapTap, and I am very happy to have the opportunity to talk about us and my game with my gamers here. Thanks for having me. CONCODE is a tiny game production studio run by me(programmer) and my friend(designer). We don't have grand goals like becoming a big company. We just want to create something that we can have fun playing on our own. If we make a game like that, I'm sure there will be people who will love our games.

The Way Home Review: As Roguelike As It Gets
Back in 1988, I distinctly recall playing a little game called Rogue on my Commodore 64 and not being all that into it for various reasons – mostly because the “graphics” weren’t really graphics at all but ASCII characters and letters. This did not excite my seventeen-year-old sensibilities; games (and game graphics) had greatly evolved by 1988, and Rogue (which was originally designed in 1980) seemed trite and dated eight years later. Let me play some

I’m usually not a big fan of roguelike games and I almost never finish any of them on PC/Console. It’s not like you can ever finish a roguelike game because they are designed the way that you can play them endlessly. But I’d always give up playing halfway-through the game. I just quickly lose interest. A Vertical Screen Roguelike? With The Way Home it was the first time for me to experience a well designed roguelike game on a mobile device and on top of that it plays in a vertical screen mode so that was something new. It definitely stands out among other 2D roguelike games with a traditional wide screen mode when you first look at it. But it has a minor flaw that sometimes you can't see enemies or what's going on on the sides of your screen. Which may end up in getting attacked or walking into a trap sometimes.

OMG I LOVE THIS GAME SOOOO MUCH!!! Though, it does have some cons. The gameplay and story is amazing.. but, it can be tedious, sometimes you are replaying a boss fight so many times to finally finish it. It’s also annoying when you’ve unlocked everything and there’s nothing else to do unless you beat the next boss. Plus.. the ads- this part is REALLY annoying. To get to the next island once you’ve unlocked it. You have to watch a shit tone of ads to collect leafs. Like.. a lot. It can be really annoying since you have to do it every time you get to a new island. I haven’t finished it yet but hopefully I will soon. Oh, and also, the keys. That part is reallllyy annoying. Once I managed to get all the way to the boss fight on the snow island, but I couldn’t play it because I didn’t have the key for it! So yea, the game does have some downs, but all in all, for
