玩家必須收集到關卡內的所有的黃金，同時避免守金者追捕到自己。在收集所有的黃金之後，玩家必須逃離到安全梯，方可進入下一關。玩家可以在地板上挖洞以暫時攔截守金者，並可以安全地行走在被困的守金者上。如果一個守金者攜帶著一塊金子，當他掉進一個洞裡時，它就會被拋在後面，玩家可以取回它。隨著時間的推移，挖掘的地板會再生，填充這些洞。一個被困的守金者無法在一個空洞被填滿之前被消耗掉，立即在關卡內的一個隨機位置重生。與守金者不同的是，玩家的角色不會從一個洞裡爬出來，如果他能用其他方法逃跑，他會被殺死。地板也可以包含活板門，玩家和看守者會通過它跌落，而基岩則是玩家無法挖掘的基岩。關卡結算會根據玩家的通關時間進行結算，結算結果分為四個等級評分，時間越短評分等級越高。
