雖然魔塔的界面很像是一般的地牢遊戲，貌似隨便的打打殺殺就可以過關，但事實上玩這個遊戲需要動很多腦筋，任何一個輕率的選擇都可能導致遊戲的失敗，該遊戲有屬性攻擊、防禦、生命、金幣、經驗。對怪物的傷害次數計算公式，是敵人的生命/（自己的攻擊-敵人的防禦）；而傷害的數目計算是怪物傷害次數（敵人的攻擊-自己的防禦）。
