某一天，突如其來的大災害，令大部份生物滅絕。在這荒蕪的世界中，就只有一名博士生還下來。
他在地下的研究所中，企圖以科學的力量製作生物。而為了提取所需的能量，他優先製作了一隻可以在研究所外活動的機械人。
茂盛的植物，掩蓋了過去人類文明世界。在這殘酷又美麗的世界中，兩人以「創造生命」為目標的生活開始了。
