The first trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI wasn't scheduled to arrive until tomorrow morning, but it has leaked over twelve hours early. Time to take a look! The biggest news from the trailer is the confirmation that the game will launch in 2025 rather than next year. The minute-and-a-half trailer goes by quick, but it provides a lot of incredible-looking in-game footage. That includes a look at what appears to be Grand Theft Auto's first female protagonist and her Bonnie and Clyde-style relationship with her boyfriend-slash-partner in crime. The trailer also confirms a return to the Miami-inspired Vice City as a setting, but this time seemingly in modern day rather than the '80s.

That's right! Ten whole years after GTA 5 came out, and somehow persisted in popularity across three console generations, the next big game in the Grand Theft Auto series is just a few days from showing its face.

Following a frenzied series of rumors earlier today, Rockstar Games confirmed on its Twitter account that, yes, no joke, Grand Theft Auto VI is finally coming. While major details were not yet revealed, the studio said it will debut the trailer for one of the most anticipated games of all time in early December 2023. That timing also happens to coincide with Rockstar's twenty-fifth anniversary. Heck of a way to celebrate! The trailer announcement was delivered by Sam Houser, one of the founders of Rockstar and the company's current president.
