The plot revolves around the SG-1 team on an all-new adventure that takes them through the Stargate in an attempt to reveal the mysteries behind a dangerous new enemy: Goa'uld .  Here we will be engaged in a third-person adventure, under the command of Colonel O'Neill and the characters Captain Carter and Dr. Jackson as we travel to unknown worlds to defeat the Jaffa warriors and infiltrate a Goa'uld slave camp while exploring the mysterious temples and deciphering new technologies to solve cryptic puzzles.

For a certain type of dorky kid growing up in the '90s, the Stargate franchise was a formative gateway into goofy-yet-fun, low-budget sci-fi adventures. Beginning with the 1994 movie Stargate, the series quickly expanded out into multiple TV shows, comics, cartoons, books, and yes, video games. And while there hasn't been much going on with this IP in recent years, that's finally changing this week, as an all-new Stargate game has just launched...and you can even play the first mission for free.

SHOULD I PLAY STARGATE: TIMEKEEPERS? Probably! For one thing, the first mission is free, so there’s no harm in trying it out. That said, Stargate: Timekeepers is a real-time stealth tactics game that’s very much in the tradition of Mimimi Games’ Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun, Desperados III, and Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew. If you dug any of those games, you’ll probably like Stargate: Timekeepers—although Slitherine’s sci-fi tie-in lacks the polish and user friendliness that Mimimi perfected over its run.
