A game worth being called Torchlight.
I was 10 when I first played Diablo 2. Just imagine a skinny child who was farming day and night until his mother thought he was bewitched by the computer and need electroconvulsive therapy. there’re only 2 things that keep me so addicted at a young age. One is Diablo 2, another is Case Closed. I watched from the first episode to 500th + in a row. And the Torchlight 2 is the only product that I think is close to Diablo 2.
Back to this game, I give 5 stars. It's not perfect. It does have some things that need to be polished, but it’s relatively high-quality and at least it’s worth being called a Torchlight, Much better than TC 3. To be honest, as an editor, I should be more strict, but this time I still think to give 5 stars or 9.5 points is fair. It’s rational to give it 5 stars when you truly like it.
The graphics are great. Not very amazing at the beginning, but when I reach Twilight’s Rise (Level 4 ) when it starts raining. The scenery is so beautiful. Moreover, the game scene is tridimensional. For example, some enemies will attack you from a higher place, This is rare for mobile games and for this type on mobile. And some stuff in the scene is the object can be destroyed. This makes the graphic performance and scene design even better.
The music is top-notched. It sounds like made by a movie studio. There is no vibe of cheapness we usually would listen to from general mobile games. Especially when I use the ice shot to break the enemy into pieces. The sound effect is so good. The downside is the sound of item drop is too low and unimpressive. To this day, the sound of the item drop and the sound of drinking the potion still would echo in my dream. It’s so addictive to keep hearing item drops. This is what this game needs to be improved.
The skill variety and combination of multiple skills are working well. That's why I always say that many Diablo-like mobile games are perfunctory. The hero can only use one weapon, and the skill effects are all same. But here, I see what these games should have been done. In less than 40 minutes, I changed four weapons, and the features and effects of each are totally different. That's what the Diablo-like game should look like, the skill tree and hero build.
Generally speaking, it is already an interesting game. Some details still need to be polished. I really hope he can do better, especially when Blizzard is acquired by Microsoft. I know that Blizzard can no longer produce a game as good as before. This also makes me look forward to the full version of this game.
