After returning and experiencing Recitativo di Fantasia, I realized why I felt stifled when immersing myself in mission-based mobile ARPG games' storyline.
Action Taimanin, Punishing Gray Raven, Aether Gazer, and Snowbreak: Containment Zone. Those are 4 mission-based mobile ARPG games with the same characteristic that I play, players portray themselves as a character in the game and using 1st person pov for interacting with the other characters in the game.
The character that players portray has 1 development direction, players basically will become Naruto. A character with a basic hero template, a charming character that'll attract anyone, wether they're friends or foes, to stay by that particular character's side. What's the point of having interactions option if those options don't change the development of the game's characters & relationship?
Without affecting the main storyline, I hope the PGR dev team would make more freedom for players to set their own character alignment (lawful good, neutral good, chaotic good, lawful neutral, true neutral, chaotic neutral, lawful evil, neutral evil, chaotic evil), change some interaction options, and make those interaction options really change the relationship between players and PGR's characters, thus changing the characters development.
Say, what'd happen if players had the option to stay aside when Vera wanted to execute her mission in the ending of chapter 6? Clearly, Kamui had his own plot armor, so he wouldn't die and the main storyline wouldn't be affected. What kind of relationship would players have with Strike Hawk, especially relationship with Kamui and Camu, later? Would it affect the relationship of Gray Raven and Strike Hawk? Or it'd only affect personal relationship like how politicians were depicted in novels, they could smile at each other & even have a drink together in a certain event, but deep down, they're like fire & water. Then players would face more difficulties when Gray Raven collaborated with Strike Hawk, like facing more enemies than Strike Hawk.
Or a player choose to flirt with Mommy Bianca by using every interaction opportunities in the whole storyline to make her closer with the player. But as a karma, the player's relationship with Watanabe become strained. For an extreme consequence, it may lead to a battle between player's team and Watanabe when they have a collaborative mission. But it won't trigger a war between Forsaken & Babylonia because it'll change the main storyline. This karma can be used as an ingredient in the main storyline before the last update too.
That'll be interesting.
