I run a small IT consultant firm, and for the past 6 years we have been working with startups, medium clients and big clients. Since I love the lore of Sun Wukong, I knew I wanted to make a game with him as the main character. So we created a semi-idle RPG game with a mix of Tower Defense into it. You play as Sun Wukong and you summon the Chinese Zodiacs as Heroes to help you  rid the land of Zombies. What do you think, did I make the right decision following my heart or should I kept the profitable consultant business?

The truth is many Game Studios struggle with getting even 2-3 minutes average engagement time for their games. On our latest game Monkey King - Legend of Hereos we have an average of 23 minutes per active user. This number blew our mind. We have been building games for the past 15 years and for us our core value is not these fast dopamine kicks (even though they are important), but it is to create a fundamental value for the player in terms of depth to the game itself. We listen a lot to our players, especially in early stages, the way we have gone about doing that is we have contacted several hundreds of people on IG and asked for honest feedback. Many times this has given us key insights as to how we've been blind to early bottle necks in the game that makes users fall off. And gradually we have improved on that and removed these blockers for users to stay. In conclusion, listen a LOT to early players, and ask them especially how you can improve on the first 1-2 minutes of the game. This is where many players drop off if the game is not understandable or interesting enough.

I finally finished Green Glass from the Chinese studio Netease.  I crossed landscapes in a medieval epic fantasy world with a very fascinating Asian flavor in the guise of a warrior on a journey in which I had to accompany a girl to be protected from a series of dangers and enemies.  Along the way, I faced tons of obstacles, including powerful enemies who tried to end my adventure prematurely.  In some scenarios I rode a horse, while other times I even went down to prepare healing tea.

After a hiatus of 7 months, I decided to revisit the fantasy world of the Abyss, a "free-to-play" ARPG with roguelike elements. Excited to discover what had changed, my journey unfolded with a mix of anticipation and curiosity. Background:    The Abyss had initially captured my attention with its captivating blend of dark fantasy, biotechnology, and co-op roguelike gameplay.
