We meet again, Hunters!
We received much feedback from you since our first Developer Diary. We know how passionate you are and how much you've been looking forward to this, which is why we worked hard to present this latest diary as soon as possible. The main character this time is Hela, a Humanoid Retainer.

1. 「About Hela」
Hela's appearance, speech, and mannerisms might drastically alter the impression normal Vyderans have of Kallar Mediums, as she does not have the calm, elegance, and air of mystery typical of them. But you can't blame her; she's only just reached adulthood.
She is one of the most outstanding Kallar Mediums of her generation. She's exceptionally talented in perceiving and manipulating Kallar. Whether it's stimulating a hunter's Kallar to speed up the healing of their wounds, or gathering Kallar to protect her companions, Hela can do it all.
Unlike some powerful and arrogant Kallar Mediums, Hela likes making friends with everyone. She tries her best to help others, regardless if they're a hunter, a commoner, or even a non-Vyderan retainer, providing aid at crucial moments.

Sense of Justice
Hela would probably be a hero if she were a hunter. She chose to be a Kallar Medium (or perhaps she was chosen by the Kallar itself), but her sense of justice will never fade. She will always lend a helping hand without a second thought to those in need.
Chief Hunter Kalm once said while drunk: "Hela could reach greater heights if she were under my tutelage. Dikaula might be the head of the Kallar Mediums, but she doesn't know the value of courage or justice."

Curiosity
Hela has a burning curiosity for new things, especially when related to Kallar. There are instances when her attention will be caught by something at the wrong times. It's apparently a Kallar Medium's destiny to always be on the lookout for Kallar.
Her curiosity was evident when she said: "There's nothing more interesting than knowing a Kallar secret that no one else knows. Unless it's two secrets, of course."

2.「About Her Skills」
Active Skill: Protective Cocoon
Hela is the best at manipulating Kallar to help her companions. When her companions are injured, she will guide the Kallar within their bodies to speed up healing. She will also gather Kallar to form a shield, making them immune to Beast attacks for a period of time.
Here's something noteworthy about her skill. Unlike other Retainers, Hela's active skill can be turned on or off according to your needs. Turn it on when you need some healing, and turn it off when you don't. It's a convenient skill that can be used as long as the Energy requirements have been met. This makes Hela's skill suitable in many situations, and she can maintain your health in a safe range during battle.

Passive Skill: Restorative Arts
Being incapacitated while hunting is every hunters' nightmare. It not only signifies possible mission failure, but also the risk of death. It's at moments like these when Hela provides timely aid by healing some of your injuries and granting you immunity from Beast attacks for a short period of time.
This skill greatly boosts your survivability, allowing you to focus on attacking Beasts, but it has a long cooldown. You can turn on Hela's active skill to keep your health within a safe range in the meantime.

3.「Character Design」
Design Principles and Goals
The player is a hero who bears the heavy responsibility of retrieving the lost Kallar Heart. This challenging journey can be a little lonely at times, and we want players to have strong and loyal companions to help them fight beasts. So we created the Retainer system. We've designed many Retainers so far, with Humanoid Retainers being the latest addition.
Other factors are taken into consideration as well. We don't think it makes sense for the villagers to live peacefully in Vyderan while the player takes on all the beasts and enemies. We want the bond between player and villagers to be more authentic by having them play a more active role in their quest, true friends who help the player in times of danger.
After reading the feedback from the beta tests, we created Humanoid Retainers. In subsequent polls for players and the team, Hela placed first and was included in our roster. We believe Hela was chosen because of her upbeat and cheerful personality. We'll continue to work on adding a wider variety of Retainers to make your journey more exciting!

Design Elements
During the design process, we focused on Hela's body markings and her butterfly companion to portray her exceptional talent using Kallar. We also added some cute design elements to match her lively personality.
The team thought the most straightforward way to show her growth was by changing her physical appearance as she becomes stronger. After many rounds of trial and error, we finally found the best effect that suits her and decided to add glowing Kallar markings on her body.
In past designs, Kallar was presented as an energy orb. But we didn't think this suited Hela. We chose a fluttering butterfly as her attack animation to show her whimsical side.

Differences From the NPC Version
Humanoid Retainer Hela's appearance changes as she levels up. She will have more glowing Kallar markings on her body and, at the highest tier, a Kallar butterfly that accompanies her into battle. As a playable character, Hela will be able to fight alongside you and face the powerful beasts with you.

Differences From Other Retainers
Humanoid Retainers are the people you usually meet in your hometown of Vyderan. They help supplement the Hunter Alliance and provide support.

4.「A Word From the Developers」
Hela is a strong support character who will be of great help in any battle. She works best as a healer, but her attacks pack a punch too! Due to her versatility, we believe she will be a great addition to your team, especially in the first few stages.
When we started working on Hela, we wanted a design that matched her role in the game. We decided to add a Kallar Butterfly that follows her into battle. The team used a new technique to animate the butterfly. It was a tedious process, but we believe our efforts will pay off!
We hope Hela's adorable appearance will be a refreshing take on the designs revealed so far. Please don't forget her when you become more powerful and remember to include her in your adventures!

Much better than wild born great graphics,better enemy design,better animations just like monster hunter rise so colorfull the gameplay is also great but pls take out the health bar of an enemy on a fight so that it can really feels like monster hunter where its really about instict of what you do
