Hello, Party Stars!
Here is a sneak peek at Trade and Shield Pushback in the June update!
Before we go into any details, let's have a general idea about these two new features:
Trade: Simultaneous hits by either player on the other will result in varied effects based on the attacks.
Shield Pushback: Hits on your opponent's shield under certain circumstances will cause him or her to be displaced for a certain distance.
The inclusion of "Trade" into the "Action Prompt Guide" may have come to your attention, but what exactly is this new feature?
Before delving into the mechanism of "Trade", let's learn about the reasoning behind them:
1. Firstly, the bullets of certain characters are just impossible to cope with at the current stage, giving undue advantages to them.
2. Secondly, we'd like to prevent button mashing at close quarters.
For example, Sandy would be hit by Alice's bubble despite his hit on it in previous versions. But with the Trade system in place, he won't be hit anymore if he manages to hit the bubble.
(In previous versions, Sandy's fist has a chance to be hit by the bubbles, resulting in knock-out)
(In the latest update, the bubbles will burst if he hits them at the right moment)
In addition, the Neutral Attacks of the two players might have gone all the way to 999% until one of them lost by a change of move. But with the new "Trade" system, that kind of situation will lead to totally different results and you will have plenty of time to make your move.
In a nutshell, simultaneous attacks may have had unpredictable results before the "Trade" system. But now proper rules in the new system will enable players to have greater control over their attacks in addition to ample freedom to deal with bullets and melee button mashing. Let's find out about what this adjustment will bring to the game in the new update!
Next up is the other new feature in this update, which is "Shield Pushback". This new feature is supposed to weaken shield grab and make it easier for players to attack shields.
In the current "Shield Pushback" mechanism, when a player behind a shield is hit, he or she and the attacker will be pushed away from each other. This mechanism will add an element of unpredictability to the situation when a player is hit with certain moves. But it is more likely to benefit the attacker.
Shield Pushback has the following effects:
• When a player on guard is hit, the two players will be pushed away from each other.
(The faltering animation of Shield Pushback will be optimized!)
• The heroes won't be pushed off the platform.
• Attackers in the air won't be affected by the mechanism, while those on the ground will be displaced for a certain distance.
The new "Trade" and "Shield Pushback" features will be enabled in the June 23rd update, where you may experience the changes they bring to the matches!
rollback net code is more important than fighting game features right now. getting the ability to actually play with all the other players. shield knockback is a QOL feature same with trades. I'm all for a consistent game play experience and not having weird interactions between moves so this is huge. but I think servers should be a priority the NA servers are lacking as we can't play east to west coast. we are region locked which makes for a very split community. not cool. if you were going to add gameplay features. the movement options of spot dodge and roll would have been more useful. much of the changes you've been making have been b3cause you are listening to casual players with very Lil skin in the game. I've dropped a fair amount to support and I'm sad to see the current direction. each change you make is miniscule at best and much of it isn't what players need to make the game fun, make them want to keep playing and recommend it to others. I'm already in a place where we can't find matches so why isn't multi queue at the top of the list, the removal of so many damn leader boards, addition of rollback net code, and revamp of ranked AL together. what the community has Been griping about since I've started playing like come on.
